Chapter One
Jamie Cliff was the typical city girl before her mother died in a tragic car accident. After that she soon lost her faith in everything she believed in and became a victim of depression, anxiety and heartbreak. Her world was crumbling, and so was she; the once extremely happy city girl was mourned greatly and continues to do so to the present day. She no longer enjoyed the life of a teenager and because of this she secluded herself from all forms of social outings in an attempt to hide the old ‘Happy Jamie’s’ death. Today was the only exception; her best friends seventeenth was being celebrated over a lunch date with close mates, she obviously was invited and so she removed the mourning black and respectively changed into a white floral dress decorated with colourful flowers.
The bus route the young girl was on was a direct transfer through the dryer suburbs of Townsville; she would soon ride on into the busy city where the bus would be caught in uncontrollable traffic. It was ten streets down from where she was initially heading when a glimpse of an extremely familiar building caught her eye. It was coloured red, rundown and old; she had seen it before.
In her dream; Jamie was frantically racing over construction ramps and platforms that we’re attached to a building of great height and might. The building however was crumbling from behind and beneath her; there was nothing she could do to stop it and so she ran until the castle floors collapsed beneath her and she fell to a startling jolt from her bed.
Seeing the building from her dream sent her skin shivering with goose bumps and after a small percentage of thought; she sparked an interest. The bus stopped a block away from the red building, and so Jamie disembarked and paced back to the dried up property of hard rock and dirt with a structure on top. The three foot wire fence that surrounded the property was loosely open at the gate; the building was expecting her. She entered onto the property and investigated; she admired the large castle of opportunity before her, it was beautiful despite the fact that abandoned construction equipment flooded it all around. After circulating the old hotel; she returned to the large wooden doors at the front of it and was startled when she found a pregnant middle aged woman standing by them as if a royal guard to the entrance.
“Do you wish to enter?” The pregnant lady asked; Jamie loved the eeriness of it.
“Yeah I guess” The teenager replied.
“I do not think it wise of you to do so. Only inside, shall you face your greatest demons.” The woman explained. “But if it is a journey you wish to embark on, than I won’t stop you.”
“Will you come with me?” The teenager girl asked unsure of her decision.
“Go with you I will not, but watch over you as a spirit guide, I will.” And with that, the two rotting, wooden doors were opened and Jamie entered descending into the darkness of the hallway.
