Those last few words that Malia, the lady at the front of the room said almost gave Ravyn a heart attack.
Pandora?
Everyone was silent. None of us made a sound.
Thomas looked at me like he knew that I knew them. Which is possible because he was stung less than twenty four hours ago.
"You all must be very tired. I'll have Tiana, here escort you to your dorms." She said with a fake smile.
She looked at me and I felt a wave of dread wash over me and I involuntarily flinched. Newt, who was standing next to me saw it and turned towards me with a confused and concerned expression.
"You alright?" He whispered to me quietly.
"Yeah. I'm fine." I lied.
At the front of the room, a girl with red hair walked forwards and stood next to Malia.
"Hello. My name is Tiana and I will be escorting you to your sleeping quarters." She said with a fake cheery voice.
She started speed-walking to the exit and paused in the doorway.
"Follow me, please."
We all began to move towards her. I was at the back of the line, feeling glanced and eyes piercing my back as I walked away.
Tiana was very fast. We were all practically jogging to keep up with her.
"Can you tell us anything?" I heard Thomas ask from the front of the group.
"I'm sorry, A2." Tiana said.
"Thomas." She quickly corrected.
"I can't disclose any information for you. It's not my job." She quickly added. I could see Thomas glancing at her warily. He heard it too.
She led us down a series of corridors and hallways until we got to a door with an exit sign on it.
She opened the door and stepped outside. I could feel the heat from the back of the group and I grimaced.
When I stepped outside, it was like I had stepped into an oven. I started sweating as soon as the sun came in contact with my skin.
Tiana led us forward and we walked for a solid five minutes before she finally stopped walking in front of a building.
Five minutes and I was already struggling to keep going.
She tapped a key-card on the reader in front of the the door and it slid open. A blast if cold air blew past me and I relished the small miracle.
Inside the building, there was a hallway on both sides about a metre and a half wide that seemed to circle around another circular wall. There was another door in front of us and Tiana opened it.
Inside it was very plain. There was a large table in the middle and on other door opposite the one we had just entered through.
"This is the common room. This is where you will be eating."
She started to head towards the other door and we all scrambled to catch up.
Through the door the hallway was the same as the one at the front door. The hallway must go completely around the building.
There was a series of doors on the other side.
"These are your rooms. Choose wisely. There will be no switching rooms. Ravyn, you will be kept in another room away from the males." just as I was about to answer back she cut me of.
"For your own safety, of course."
I huffed. If I was able to sleep in the Glade without perverts coming into my room I could probably handle bunking with a few of them.
She ignored me.
"Dinner will be brought to you in an hour. You cannot leave this building. It is not permitted." She told us.
There was a series of agreements and nods and she turned and sped off down the hallway.
"That's stupid. I can handle myself." I muttered.
"I know. Just humour her though. I have a bad feeling about this place." Thomas answered.
I completely agree.
