I looked out the window watching the trees and houses pass by since we were on our way to our new house in Baton Rouge. I'm originally from Baltimore but my momma thought it would be a good idea for us to have a fresh start down south. I really wasn't feeling this move at all but I understand why my momma wanted to leave it's to much going on in my city and too many bad memories for us there right now. But while I'm down south I'm definitely gonna put on for my city.
"Ma we ain't there yet " I spoke looking at all the houses pass me by
My momma was like my best friend she had me at a young age and the first 8 years of my life it was only us. My father walked out on my ma before she had me so we struggled a little until my step dad came in the picture and stepped up. If you ask me he is my dad and I couldn't appreciate him more. Now he we are 10 years later moving to B.R.
"It's up the street girl calm down" my ma said glancing at me before looking back at the road and making a right turn pulling up in front of a house

I started before I was cut off by her "Amari do not play with me let that word slip out ima pop you idc if you 18 or not" she looked a me so serious "Ma it wasn't that serious " I said giggling at her face expression "Yeah keep on ima tell ya damn daddy when he get here now get this shit out my car" she spoke getting out the car
Most of our larger ideas from Baltimore is already here because we had them shipped we had small thing in the car with us now
"When he gonna be here " I asked carrying boxes into the house
This house was big asf considering I'm the only child and it's only me and my parents
"He'll be here tonight he had to do something " my mom said unpacking a few things
I made my way up the stairs and started getting my room together. For the rest of the night I fixed my room how I wanted it and went straight to sleep

I tossed and turn from the loud music I heard playing I got up and looked out my window and noticed a party going on across the street. I watched as the people ran in and out the house do what they was doing and I noticed a light skinned boy look up at me and and told whatever boy he was talking to to look up at me. Once both of their attention was on me I rolled my eyes closed my curtains and laid in my bed knowing I wouldn't be to sleep no time soon so i decided to post a pic on Instagram
