He had long decided to make a stand—with Lisa even ignoring him at school, he realised she was too stubborn and decided that for once, he was going to have to man-up.
Everything was prepared on the day he walked up to her in class. He was going to make her listen.
"Noona?"
"Yeah Kook?"
"Can I talk to you?"
"I'm busy," she said shortly.
He rolled his eyes. "Busy swinging scissors?"
She dropped them with a clatter. "Did the Jeon Jungkook just roll his eyes at me?"
He shrugged. "Maybe?"
She burst into peals of laughter. "There's the Kookie I know!"
She took him by surprise when she suddenly threw her arms round his neck and hugged him tightly. He had thought it would take longer to get her attention and he had even prepared many arguments but they all flew out of the window the moment she hugged him.
"Noona, people are watching!" Jungkook squeaked in panic as a few of their classmates sitting on desks and chairs stared agog.
"Let them!" Lisa said gruffly, "I thought I lost you to the system Kook. I thought my best bud was a goner!"
"Noona, ack, choking," Jungkook wheezed and Lisa finally released him, beaming.
"I'm so so glad you're okay Kookie."
"Noona, I've been here in this same classroom every day, and in the playground, I wasn't taken by aliens."
"Yeah but I was scared you were siding with the adults now because you were so happy to go to extra lessons." Lisa explained sheepishly, rubbing her nape. "I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions..."
Jungkook shook his head. "That's stupid. I'm your friend. I would never side with the adults!"
"You're my best friend actually," Lisa grinned, making Jungkook's ears blush at the tips.
She picked up their bags and threaded an arm through his. "Tell Mr Park we still haven't arrived yet!" she called to the scattered students in the classroom.
"But first lesson's gonna start—"
"Don't care!" Lisa returned cheerfully and sauntered out with a conflicted Jungkook in tow.
"Noona, Mr Park is going to bring the roof down if we go in late!"
"Good, there won't be any classrooms. We won't have to come to school anymore!" Lisa said happily as she tugged him to their favourite spot in the garden.
