Peter wouldn't say he's sad, but he also wouldn't say he's necessarily happy. It's just one of those days where he's overly emotional and maybe more than a little bit touch starved. In all honesty he needs a hug, like a real hug, one of those hugs that your whole body just melts into.

Thinking about it, the only thing Peter wants to do right now is have a movie night with May. Movies, snacks, and cuddles is what Peter craves more than anything at the moment. But he'd promised Tony that he'd have a lab night with him tonight. And even though he absolutely loves the lab nights with Tony, it just wasn't what he needed at the moment.

So you can't really blame him for being a little less enthusiastic than he typically was. He just wasn't feeling it today.

"Kid you haven't said a word in nearly 15 minutes. I think this is the longest I've ever seen you be quiet, normally you're chatting my ears off," Tony chuckles as Peter's face turns a light shade of pink, "Seriously though kid, what's up?"

"What? Nothing, everything's fine."

Tony crosses his arms, looking at Peter with raised eyebrows, "Yeah, uh huh, definitely. Come on Pete, talk to me."

"I'm fine Mr. Stark. Just a little tired is all." Peter felt a little bad about lying to Tony, but he also didn't want to bother the man with his juvenile problems.

"Ok look kid," Tony sighs, putting his tools on the table, "I'm not gonna promise I'm any good at this type of stuff,  in fact, I'll admit I have no idea what I'm doing"

Tony chuckles, scratching the back of his neck, "But uh you're a really good kid Pete. And I don't want to be here just for Spider-Man, I want to be here for Peter Parker too. You mean a lot to me Underoos ok? And I want you to be happy, not fine, but happy."

"Can I hug you Mr. Stark?" Peter's face becomes a darker shade of red as he shuffles his feet. Keeping his eyes downcast, "I know you don't really like people touching you, and last time I hugged you it made you uncomfortable but I don't know I just re-"

Peter's words were cut off by Tony wrapping his arms around him. And when Peter returns the hug he feels as if his whole body deflates. All of his muscles seeming to relax until Tony is practically holding him up.

"How about we go watch a movie, I'm feeling like watching a movie tonight," Tony doesn't pull away as he talks, keeping his chin rested on top of Peter's head.

Peter just nods, not wanting to let go of Mr. Stark.

"Ok kid I can't carry you all the way to the lounge," Tony says as he gently pulls away from Peter.

Peter once again points his eyes to the floor, scuffing his shoes together, "Sorry."

"Don't worry about it Pete," Tony wraps his arm around Peter's shoulder as they make their way to the elevator, "Now, what movie should we watch huh?"

"Can we watch Star Wars Mr. Stark?"

"Why not. Hey FRI can you set up Star Wars in the lounge for me and Peter here?" Tony asks as they step off the elevator, arm still firmly wrapped around Peter's shoulders.

"Of course sir."

"Oh also order some pizzas, one cheese and two pepperoni if you would sweetheart." Tony sends a wink to the ceiling at the "sweetheart" part, causing Peter to let out a quiet laugh.

"Mr. Stark don't you have a fiance? I don't think you should be flirting with other ladies, even if she is an A.I." Peter says, smirking up at his mentor.

"Psh I'm the Tony Stark, Pepper knew what she was getting herself into when she said yes to marrying me, plus I wouldn't leave her for anyone or anything," Tony looked down at Peter with a slight smile on his face, "You, and Pep are my whole world."

"Oh my gosh I can't wait to tell the whole world that Tony Stark does in fact have emotions. Everyone's gonna be so shocked." Peter starts laughing once Tony pushes him away with a mock glare.

"Oh be quiet Spider-Baby. Now go sit while I make the popcorn." Tony says as he walks into the kitchen.

Peter makes his way to the couch, grumbling about not being a baby while Tony laughs at him from the kitchen. And when Tony sits on the couch next to Peter, noticing how Peter makes sure he and Tony aren't touching Tony immediately wraps his arm around Peter's shoulders again. Pulling the kid into his side until Peter gives in and curls up against Tony, sighing contentedly as he fully relaxes.

"Thank you Mr. Stark."

"For what?" Tony looks down to see Peter already looking at him.

"For everything." Peter says with all the sincerity he could muster. Eyes big and full of innocence.

"I love you Pete, don't ever forget that. I'm not the father type, or even a good mentor type, and I didn't learn from the best person, but I promise to do my best for you. You deserve the world kiddo." Peter's eyes go wide, face turning red as a sheepish smile makes it's way onto his lips.

"I love you too Mr. Stark."
