Cameron slowly sat up in her bed, yawning. She blinked a few times, glancing around her room. It was quite barren, only scattered boxes that lined the walls. Pale morning sunlight poured in through the only window, and she could see the hair and dust particles floating around in the rays. She groaned as she slipped out of bed, grabbing her single blanket and tucking it away into a box, then closing it up.
"Cameron, hurry up!" Charlotte, her older sister, yelled from down the hall. "The moving truck is here!"
"Can you come and help me move these boxes?" Cameron shouted, groaning when she got no response. She decided to take the smallest boxes first, then force her sister to help her take out the last ones. She picked up a box of CDs, and one filled with books. "Alright.." She slipped on some sandals and walked out. She reached for the door handle when it swung open, catching her by surprise. She stumbled back, dropping the boxes. 'Good thing I wrapped up those CDs.' She thought to herself.
"Oh gosh, sorry!" A girl with short, curly blonde hair. She extended her hand, offering to help her up. Cameron grabbed her hand, standing up with her support.
"Gena? What are you doing here?" She picked the boxes up, looking at her. Gena was Cameron's childhood best friend and practically lived with her.
"I saw the moving truck, and had to say bye before you left, it's my duty as your bestie!" Gena hugged her, her platinum blonde tendrils bouncing on her shoulders every time she moved. A wave of nostalgia rushed over Cameron. Could she really leave her behind? She could remember every second of the time they spent together. But what could she do?
"Yeah, I wish I didn't have to go.." She shrugged, carrying the boxes outside and shoving them into the truck. "Wanna help me carry boxes?" She turned but didn't see Gena anywhere. She hopped off of the truck and walked inside, looking around. "Gena?"
Gena emerged from her room, carrying some boxes already. "Yeah?"
