hermione couldn't believe it. she was paired with the one and only draco malfoy. "no no no," her brain thought. this couldn't be happening, but of course it was happening. ginny shook hermione's arm and pushing her up a little. hermione sighed and stood up. she met draco's eye from across the room. he looked as frozen as she did. she gave him a little nod which he returned before they simultaneously made their way forward to get their envelope from kingsley. draco let hermione take the envelope as they stood infront of kingsley. he gave them both a smile and a nod before dismissing them to sit back down.

as hermione walked back to her seat she stared down at the envelope. it had her and draco's last name on it in green cursive. she ran her thumb over the writing as she took her seat next to ginny who automatically grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze.

draco groaned rubbing his temples as he heavily sat back down. blaise clapped him on the back and gave him a pitying look before turning his attention back to kingsley. kingsley continued to call pairs.

"pansy parkinson and theodore nott"

"ron weasley and astoria greengrass"

"harry potter and daphine greengrass"

"blaise zabini and ginny weasley"

hermione let go of ginny's hand as she watched her bestfriend walk to the front of the room. she smiled slightly; she was glad for ginny. she deserved to be happy and move on after her and harry broke up. she knew ginny was doing okay since it was a mutual breakup with both of them decided they would be better off as bestfriends, but hermione knew ginny was still a little bit hurt deep down.

draco's head snapped up as he heard his bestfriends name being called. he was paired with the weasley girl. he watched as blaise met ginny at the middle of the room before ginny took the envelope as they parted ways to come sit back down. his eyes wandered over to hermione to see her reaction. she was smiling slightly and looked deep in thought. he tore his eyes away as blaise took his seat next to draco.

"tough luck for both of us aye?" blaise muttered as he and draco glanced over to where the two girls were seated.

"i'll say," draco responded grimacing as he looked over at blaise. blaise shot him a smirk before both boys laughed slightly.

hermione gave ginny a light smile and grabbed her hand as ginny sat back down. ginny smiled back at hermione nodding her head, indicating that she would be okay. "i think i was the last pair," ginny whispered. sure enough kingsley started speaking; "that was the last of the pairing. you may now talk to everyone. once you and your partner are ready you'll open the envelope together. inside you'll find the address to your flat where you will apperate together. once you're both there you guys can read over the rest of the content in the envelope."

ron immediately walked over to hermione as kingsley finished with what he was saying. he held his arms open and hermione fell into them, as they embraced each other. "we'll be okay right?" hermione asked. "yes, just like i said," ron replied pulling out of the hug to look at her.

"let's go mate," blaise said standing up after he and draco watched the encounter between ron and hermione. "i don't know if i can do this," draco sighed standing up next to blaise. "c'mon man," blaise clapped him on the back as he started towards potter's entourage.

"they're coming," ginny said tugging on hermione's arm. the two girls moved away from the rest of their group as blaise and draco approached. "weasley, granger," blaise said as he and draco nodded at the two girls. ginny forced a smile as hermione nodded in return. "well then, shall we open the envelopes?" blaise asked motioning his hand to the envelopes in each girl's hand. ginny nodded as she went over to where blaise was standing. draco came over to where ginny had just stood.

"ready?" hermione asked looking up at the man who had tortured her through all of hogwarts. "as ready as i'll ever be," draco replied not meeting her gaze. with that hermione tore the envelope open. she pulled out the first slip of paper. it was a small square piece of paper. she unfolded it and held it up so both her and draco could read it.

274 oakley street london, england

"what's your address?" hermione asked as she and draco looked up from their slip of paper.

"276 oakley street," blaise replied. "that's right next to ours," draco said shooting blaise a smirk. "maybe this wouldn't be so bad," hermione thought. she would have ginny right next to her. "well, let's apperate," she said to the group. "how do you want to do this granger," draco asked looking up at her. she turned as she heard a pop and watched as blaise and ginny disappeared hand in hand. "just like that malfoy," she replied as she grabbed his hand. the last thing she saw was his wide, shocked eyes right before they disapparated.
