She smiles knowing it's just a mask. She screams inside knowing if
somebody actually looked deep in her eyes, there's something wrong. So she
doesn't make eye contact.. She hangs her head or looks off. In the halls of
school, she walks along the lockers blending in with the rest of the school.
Ear buds in. Music loud, not just to block out the sound of everybody but her
thoughts. She tries in class, but it's hard when she distracted by those
thoughts. She struggles. She doesn't ask for help.. She doesn't want to feel
stupid. She slips behind. When she's on her way home, whether it's on the
bus, a ride, or walking. She focuses on where she needs to be. Until
something catches her attention. It could be the littlest thing.. Like trees
slowly swaying. Then, her whole mind set is changed.. Trees, flowers, nature,
she gets lost in the thought of being in a wonder land. Her music plays a slow
song. She smiles. For one moment she smiles a true smile. But, then she's
pulled into reality. She walks in the door of her home. Again, she's focused.
Straight to her room she goes. Her pretty eyes look out the window.
"This is a fucking jail. Being in this room. Being in this house. Fuck being in
this hell called the world," she thinks to herself, angrily.
