Your P.O.V

Reece and I are standing in front of the house of my biological parents and we're just staring at it. The house is so large and fancy. I guess we didn't expect it to be like this. After all, who would've known?

"Well, this is it. You're going to meet your parents." Reece says, still looking at the house. I nod and say, "Yup. Here goes nothing."

We walk to the front door and look at each other nervously. "Look, no matter what happens, you still have me and Blake. We'll be here for you no matter what decision you make. We're your best friends." Reece says with a smile.

I smile at him and say, "Thank you." He just nods and I ring the doorbell. We wait for a few seconds and a lady holding a glass of champagne, "How may I help you?"

She looked like she's in her 40s, but she looks good for her age. She's wearing a satin nightgown and her hair is in a messy bun. Reece nudges me and I snap out of my thoughts, "Oh, sorry. Um, is this the Kingsley household?" I ask shyly.

"Yes and I'm Mrs. Kingsley. What is it that you came here for?" she asks, before taking a sip of her champagne. I look at Reece for help and he speaks, "Did you happen to give your daughter for up for adoption? Y'know when she was a baby?"

The three of us stay silent for a moment and she looks at us like we're psychics or something. "Why does that concern you?" she scoffs.

"Ma'am, with all due respect, please just answer my questions. We've come a long way for this and we just want a confirmation." Reece explains.

"Fine. Yes, I did. I left her at the orphanage. I even left my contact details so that they know where to contact me and so that the foster family would send me pictures of my little girl, but they never did. I do know their names; Y/M/N and Y/D/N Y/L/N. They seem nice and I hope they're taking care of her well. I even made a special request. I've always wanted the name Y/N for when I have a daughter and I hope they named her that. I wrote it on a piece of paper."

Tears clouded my vision and my breath hitches.

"Now answer MY question. Why does it concern you?" she asks once more. Reece looks at me and slightly nods, signalling me that it's time to introduce myself. I nervously look at my biological mother in front me and she looks at us, waiting for a response.

"I-I'm your-- I'm your daughter." I stammer. "I brought the files with me, because I found it in the st--" I get cut off by my biological mother as she gives me the biggest and the most loving hug. I look at Reece in shock as I hug her back. He smiles at me and takes out his phone to take a picture; maybe for Blake to see.

After awhile, we pull away from each other and she has tears in her eyes. She smiles at me and says, "I knew I shouldn't have doubted my gut feeling. I looked like you when I was your age, darling." She lets me and Reece in the house and she made us sit in the living room before she leaves again.

We sit on the expensive couch and wait for her. We stay quiet, because we feel overwhelmed. We couldn't believe what just happened.

"How do you feel?" Reece asks.

"I feel really great, Reece! I finally met my biological mother. I'm really, genuinely happy." I smile widely.

"So, what will happen now? Like, what's your plan now that you've met your real mum?" Reece asks. Now that I think about it, I don't know.

"I'm afraid I don't have a plan yet, Reece." I tell him honestly.

Just before Reece speaks up, she, my biological mum, comes back with a man who I assume is my biological father. They sit on the other couch across from us with smiles on their faces.

"Y/N, we want you to live with us. We can talk to your foster parents. We really really want you here to live with us and we already have so many plans for you!" my mum swoons at the thought.

"Don't worry about your friends. You can still see them and even invite them over." my biological father says with a warm smile. Reece and I look at each other and back at them.

"We could make up for lost time, sweetie." my biological mother says to me.

She's right, but I can't just leave my foster family like this. What should I do?
