Being Camera Shy was bad. Especially with friends who are constantly taking photos or videos and they want me to be in them. It was like you were missing something and you're too shy to find that piece so you just leave it floating around somewhere.
That's the story of my life. I was always reluctant to be in photos or videos. It was the biggest fear of my life. I don't know why, I've just always hated being in photos or videos.
I was currently along in my bedroom, watching Netflix on my TV.
I lived with my dad and two brothers, so being the only girl in the house I was pretty much ruled out to do anything. My brothers were idiots, and we didn't really get along all the time. Hence the reason I was in my room a lot, unless I'm getting food, peeing, showering, or out with friends.
My phone started ringing beside me, and I paused the episode of Orange is the new Black and answered my phone.
"Hello?" I greeted. I forgot to look at the caller I.D, so I had absolutely no idea who it was.
"Hey Brook. Wanna go to the park?" the familiar voice of my best friend, Quinn, asked. She was the opposite of me. She took selfies and photos of herself an friends everywhere she went. She loved it. Every time she wanted to take a photo with me, I would hide behind my hands.
"Yeah, sure," I smiled. At least I wasn't crammed up in my house all day.
"Great. I'll be round yours in five?" she asked.
"Yeah, i'll be here," I laughed.
"Okay, bye," she laughed back.
"Bye," I said ad hung up.
I might have to get dressed out of sweatpants and a vest before going to the park.
I heaved myself off of my bed, very reluctantly, and walked over to my closet.
I didn't really own expensive brands, or trendy clothes. I mostly owned sweatpants, jogging bottoms and leggings with a few pairs of skinny jeans and a lot of hoodies and oversized shirts. But, I wanted to make myself presentable at least, so I decided on wearing a pair of white skinnies matched with a black vest and cardigan, and my favourite pair of converse trainers. My dark brown hair was brushed out and I was ready to go, after turning off my TV and grabbing my phone.
I walked out of my room, closing the door behind me to be greeted by Mia, my kitten. She was black with white paws and the end of her tail was white, and she was the size of my palm.
I crouched down and gently picked her up, stroking her soft fur as I walking down the stairs.
"Where are you going?" my dad asked as he saw me.
"Park with Quinn," I shrugged, putting Mia back down once I reached the last step.
"Okay, do you have your phone with you?" he asked.
"In my pocket and no, it's not on silent," I told him. He was really protective over me, and he liked me having my phone in reach and able to hear when I leave to house.
"Okay sweetie. Be home by nine," he smiled and kissed my forehead.
"Okay, dad," I smiled, walking towards the front door
