4 hours had passed, my skin had already turned bronze while my face got sunkissed.

"So, Leila" Sadie breaks the silence, propping her elbows on the towel below her. We've been under the sun after the small talk Kyle and I had, which I thankfully had forgotten ever since I lied back down to my towel. Even though we've been under the heat for hours, a splurge of tan didn't once set into her skin. She looked pretty much the same as we got first walked into the beach.

"There's this little party going on tonight and I think it's obligated that we go." She drifts off as I start gathering my things.

I'm not really the type of girl who hesitates over teenage party invitations. I tend to just go with it.

So without hesitation I say..

"Yeah, sure" As casual as that, I pick up my towel, dusting off the particles of sand that stuck into its fabric.

"Great!!" She squeals, swiftly propping herself into her feet. "There's gonna be like a few people." She explains.

I don't think I have anything else to reply with, so I just nod and grab the straps of my tote bag, proceeding to slide it to my shoulder.

We start walking with the sand eating our feet, none of us complain though. At least it's not a trail of sand with a bunch of rocks beneath it.

"Want to get ready at my place?" Sadie asks as we walk towards the exit.

"Of course. Um, do you mind if I borrow your clothes for tonight?"

"No not at all! We are gonna get you a smoking guy tonight." She moves her shoulders while a burst of giggles come out of her mouth.

I smile."I don't think so," I scoff, laughing along the way.

"What, why not?" I shake my head as we walk up in front of my door.

"Just not looking," I shrug, a smile playing on my lips.

After that we both showered and dried our hair. Sadie wore her hair up in a pony tail and I left mine down in my natural waves. We both did natural makeup because we didn't want to look like we were trying too hard.
"Okay, now for the most important part. The outfits have to be perfect." Sadie said as serious as she could be. I laughed and nodded, "Yes, you're right." We rummaged through her closet for 15 minutes and we finally picked out what we were going to wear. I decided to wear a white up and jean shorts because I didn't want to look to over dressed.

I added some gold jewelry to finish off the look and sat down on Sadie's bed waiting for her to change

Sadie came out of her bathroom looking like a model. No wonder she had a boyfriend, she was just so pretty.

We decided to walk to the party because it was only a few blocks away. I started to feel nervous as we made our way up the driveway, I didn't really know anyone there besides Sadie, Justin, and Kyle. And of course the 18 others, but that didn't count. I think Sadie could tell I was feeling this way because as we arrived at the door she turns to me," I'll introduce you to all of my friends, they're all sweet!" She said reassuring me as we stepped inside. The music blared through my ears as I was already struggling to get passed the crowd. There were so many people. I'm not the huge party girl but I also don't hate them. I already knew I was gonna want to leave in an hour. I looked around to see if I spotted anyone familiar but I only recognized a few of the people from the group at the beach.
"Here. I see some of my friends in the backyard," she said leading me to the big patio out back. As soon as I approached the outdoors the first thing i noticed was the bright red sun that was halfway passing the horizon. I smiled to myself because these little things about the beach town that bring me joy. I immediately snapped out of the little coma I was in as Sadie screeched hugging a group of three girls. I noticed they were all gorgeous, of course. Kind of lowering my self esteem. They all look very nice though. "Everyone this is my friend, Leila. I've known her since we were little." She said smiling. The first of three hugged me right away. She had gorgeous blonde hair that she wore natural. "Hey, i'm Nat!" She said pulling away. ((nat pictured below))

"It's nice to meet you Nat!" I say with a big smile

"It's nice to meet you Nat!" I say with a big smile.
"Hey i'm Dani," the next girl with short brown hair and the most perfect skin, might i add, said with a smile. ((Dani pictured below))

"So nice to meet you." I say smiling. The final girl with long sleek black hair that looked like a complete model hugged me and said," Hey girl, I'm Cassidy, but you can call me Cass or Cassie, whatever you want," she said laughing slightly as she pulled away. ((Cass pictured below))

"It's nice to meet all of you," i said eager to become friends with them since they all seem very sweet

"It's nice to meet all of you," i said eager to become friends with them since they all seem very sweet. "Want a drink?" Nat said to me. "Yeah sure," i said following her to the kitchen. "We've got every alcohol under the sun in here, take whatever you'd like:" She said grabbing a cup for herself and one for me. I laughed a replied, "Got it." I poured beer halfway in my cup because I wasn't planning on drinking that much tonight, anyways.
After 20 minutes of dancing and being introduced to new people I was finally started to feel comfortable. That didn't last very long. In the corner of my eye I could see a tall, black haired goddess walking in the door. Spoiler alert, it's Kyle. I turn my body the opposite way of the door hoping he wouldn't see me. I heard his voice coming closer as he said hello to everyone. Is lide past a couple of girls and headed for the bathroom.
