Even when the sun was high in the sky, most of them were asleep. Only A-Hei, A-Ta and A-Kai were awake. The first of the three, still wasn't very convinced about this all, but didn't voice it any more to not hurt her boys. Instead, resigned herself to eating a peach they gave her. It was sweet, impossibly so. She had the urge to spit it out after every bite, yet ate more to pacify her growling stomach. And to satisfy her boys, since both behaved like mama bears.
All in all, this wasn't a bad morning - she admitted, although grudgingly. The birds were singing, thick fur kept them warm and the thought of freedom occupied their minds. Silence fell upon them, only stirred by her chewing and the trilling of nightingales. It was comfortable, and gave her enough time to think everything over.
It wasn't everyday you found yourself saved by a mysterious cultivator, lets be honest.
...
Her feet were not hurting - she noted, surprised. Her boys did mention that the cultivator healed her, but until now she wasn't inclined to believe it. Because, come on, how would he manage it? She was no cultivator, but one she knew - it was impossible to just... Vanish wounds. Throwing off the fur, A-Hei stared. And stared. Nothing but a few neat scars marked her toes. There was a little of dried blood on her foot, but no wounds. No puss or open flesh. Nothing.
'How?' this question was the only thing she could manage for a while.
Oh God, Yulle, The Creator Of Worlds, The Bringer Of All Evils And Goods, The Mightiest Of Beings! How for the sake of you, was this possible?! The city master was a formidable cultivator with plenty of resources, but A-Hei doubted he would be able to use such magic! It was unheard of for injuries to heal overnight (she gossiped a lot with her fellow palace maids, so she would know if something like this occurred)! Not even the royal family would be able to do that - or at least A-Hei thought they wouldn't.
Shaking her head, she brought those mussing to a stop. If their saviour really had such power, then... They were probably screwed.

Hua Shu woke up feeling like a deer in the headlights. His breathing was hitched, which he promptly fixed, but hopelessness lingered. His mind worked for two, as he tried to remember where he is. It was dark and quiet, and Hua Shu couldn't stop the frantic thought of "I'm back there!".
He scrambled up, his jerky movements waving through the air madly. Then he stopped abruptly. His limbs... They felt weird! As if numb, but in the same time strong. He slowly flexed his fingers and wrists, finding no binds on himself. There was also no bruises - he concluded after a quick search about of his arms. They seemed somewhat skinny, contrasting the power he felt in them. But clear of bumps or scars, which Hua Shu knew to not be right.
Wait, Hua Shu? Where did that came from?
His name was... His name...
He blinked, noting in the back of his mind that his eyes were closed all this time. That didn't fix the darkness whatsoever, which was right. Yet, there was too many things not right, for him to actually care.
Hands falling down on the soft covers, he shook his head. Where was he, really?
'Master! Are you okay?'
Jumping in fright, Hua Shu tumbled down his bed. He clutched his head and wailed - or rather tried - feeling the tugging in his brain. It shifted into words, sounds, signals. He felt it rumbling in his ears, tinkling them and cutting open at the same time. He curled on the floor, knocking his forehead in the process. The strength in his body somehow went rampant, and the floor came out much worse in this 'match' than his forehead - there was a small dale in the panels. Thrashing himself about he managed to create a response in his head.
