My name is Leo Valdez, and I am very, very different from you.

You might have heard of me before, probably from Rick Riordan's works. He's the camp scribe. If you don't know me, there's only one thing that you really need to know:

I'm a half blood. Half human, half Greek god.

My father is Hepheastus, god of fire and blacksmiths. As his kid, I'm naturally talented in a forge, or basically anywhere else that involves mechanics or techy stuff, but this is normal. Pretty much every child of the fire god is like that. The only difference between me and them is my power over fire. Most people would expect the children of Hepheastus to have some influence over fire, but it's actually a pretty rare power. Like 1 in a bazillion rare. The last person like me was born over a century ago.

Right now, you might be thinking; "Half god? Magic powers? Sign me up!"

Trust me, its not like that. Monsters are always attacking, terrible things that can range from dragon-like serpents to robot-donkey-vampire ladies. Those aren't even the worst. There are plenty of rotten Gods, Goddessess, Titans, Giants, and even other demigods that would like nothing more than to squash me like a bug. Needless to say, my life's pretty rough.

I seriously doubt I would have survived without my two best freinds, Jason and Piper. I have other freinds too, like Percy and Hazel, but Jason and Piper I've known the longest. Now that I'm with them, along with my other freinds, on board the Argo 2, I don't have to fear my past anymore. What I'm about to tell you is a story about my past, and pretty much the last thing that happened before I was shipped of to the wilderness school, the place I met Jason and Piper.

I hope you enjoy.
