Zoe had known Xavier for three weeks now. It felt like longer though.
"Reagan, have you ever dated a guy before?".
Right now, Reagan and Zoe were sitting on the ugly couch, watching re-runs of F.R.I.E.N.D.S and eating popcorn. Tori was out shopping for more food.
"Yeah, I've had my share of guys". Reagan's eyes were still focused on the screen in front of her. "Why do you want to know?".
"Nothing". Zoe shrugged but didn't think Reagan could see her. The true question was still tugging at the back of her mind, waiting for an answer.
"How do you kiss?". Zoe instantly regretted blurting that out, because Reagan turned suddenly and gave her the weirdest face that Zoe didn't even know she could pull.
"You've never kissed a guy? Don't tell me your a virgin too?".
Zoe coughed and spluttered, pretending to cover up her words. " Maybe?".
Reagan laughed a loud laugh, until realising that Zoe was indeed serious.
"Okay, I get it! You don't have to make fun of me". Zoe sighed in defeat and hopped off the couch, already prepared to walk upstairs and sulk in her room.
"Oh! No, I'm not making fun of you! I'll teach, ya".
Zoe raised an eyebrow and proceeded to sit down again. And as if on cue, Tori burst through the door.
"Lollies, bread, ice-cream". She then handed a large container to her girlfriend. "Yoghurt".
Reagan smiled appreciately then whispered something in Tori's ear, Tori replied with a lot of gasping and shaking of one's head. "No..Jeez that's a horrible idea." Ignoring Tori's opinion Reagan proceeded to tell Zoe her 'horrible idea'.
"You are going to practise how to kiss for your boyfriend's sake-".
"Xavier isn't my boyfriend".
"Hush, you stupid idiot. Okay, so your guy friend. First off we need a balloon". Reagan shooed Tori away as Zoe's sister went to go find a balloon. Reagan tapped her foot impatiently until Tori finally came back with a large orange balloon in hand.
"Shit, I didn't actually think you would have a balloon in this house, what else do you have? Narnia?". Tori rolled her eyes and forcfully gave the balloon to Reagan, earning a small peck on the cheek. Zoe stood there awkwardly and fiddled with her hands, unsure to as how this was going to teach her. Answering her thoughts, Reagan explained everything there is too know about kissing, maybe even a little bit too much explaining...
"I get it...so you want me to practise on the balloon?".
"Yep" Reagan said, popping the 'p' "That's pretty much it".
At first, Zoe felt extremely hesitant but then she slowly started to feel stupid, like she was making a fool out of her self.
"Ugh! This is stupid, I'm stupid, this feels just plain stupid in general!". Zoe was giving up but Reagan refused to let that happen. Tori had stepped away from the scene and instead chose to bury her nose in her book, trying to ignore the weirdness going on in front of her.
Meanwhile, Zoe didn't realise that Xavier too was working on the romance thing, maybe not kissing but he was practising flirting, and even trying, trying to act sexy. In nice terms, he was failing miserably. If you were standing, or watching over this scene, seeing two teenagers trying to master the arts of kissing and flirting, you too would be laughing like a maniac, which was exactly what Reagan was doing as she stared at Zoe who was awkwardly sucking a balloon in an attempt to make it look like she was kissing it. Zoe huffed in frustration and grabbed a pin from the kitchen and stick it in the balloon, to which it popped right in front of Reagan's face.
The two teenagers were definitely the odd fish in the pond, and when High-school came, their whole worlds were going to turn uʍop ǝpısdn.
