Magic Shop

I awake in a tranquil forest. I smile, breathing in the sweet comforting perfumes of nostalgia. I walk around, taking in the surroundings. I'm standing on a paved path that shimmers a pale gold, just like in a dream. Bordering the path is a row of blossoming cherry trees. Also near the path, there's a lush carpet of the greenest grass I've ever seen. Above me is the bright blue sky with some white clouds while the bright sun sits atop it all serenely. A slight breeze passes by, making strands of my hair blow with it. I continue walking, and hear and see the playful burbling of a small stream spilling across some rocks. I smile, deciding to walk off the path to wade in the stream. 

As soon as I step off the path, though, the landscape changes. The clouds become heavy and the sky becomes dark. The sun shines a scary blood red color. The grass wilts, changing to an ashy color. The tree blossoms die and shrivel up, the trees all look dead and forlorn. The stream has turned to blood, spilling across some eerie looking rocks. They appear to be bodies. I scream in terror, trying to run back to the path, but it seems to have vanished. Voices whisper to me; dark, haunting, ones; all screaming at me to hurry up and die. All telling me I'm useless, that no one loves me. That I'm a mistake. The voices whisper to me and my heartbeat increases, beating rapidly against my chest, it feels like it's going to explode. Tears run down my cheeks. The voices don't stop, they won't go away. They just become louder, and I start to feel suffocated. "I want to die, want to disappear. Then maybe all these voices will leave me alone, then maybe it won't hurt as much." I think to myself. The voices become so loud, almost splitting my eardrums. They're all yelling at me to hurry up and end this meaningless existence. I bring my hands to my neck, wanting to choke myself, wanting to disappear. I wrap my hands tighter and tighter, cutting off my breath. As I was about to lose my breath completely, I snapped back to reality, looking at myself in horror. "No... why did I do that?" I asked myself with a hoarse, broken voice. "No... I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!!" I screamed out. "I... don't want to die..." I whispered brokenly to myself. The landscape around me changed as I crumbled down brokenly.

I wiped my eyes and looked. There was a glittery path leading to a small building in front of me, with a sign that in large shimmery letters read, 'Magic Shop'. Walking towards it, I can see the galaxy shimmering around me. As I walked in, a bell chimed. It sounded so much like comforting. The whole atmosphere in the shop, the scent, everything, felt so comforting, just like home. "Hello," a deep voice calls out to me.

I look and see a beautiful man with a dimpled smile. "H-hello!" I shyly called out to him.

"No need to be scared, we don't bite!" Laughed another voice. I looked and noticed another man next to the first one. He was rather handsome, and seemed to carry a gentle yet confident aura with him. "Stop making cringe jokes or they'll want to run away," joked another voice. I turned and noticed a comparatively short man, he looked very catlike.

"Guys, can't we just be calm for maybe a few seconds and not fight about things like this?" Another voice called out. I looked and saw another beautiful man with a cute heart smile.

"Agreed," said another voice. When I turned, I saw a short feminine looking guy that looked angelically cute. "Just like a little mochi..." I thought to myself.

"That's funny of you to say, since you fight so much with me," said another voice. I turned and saw a man with a laidback aura around him. He looked very much like a bunny, with a cute little bunny smile. "Guys, let's just say hello," said a really deep voice. I turned and saw that its owner was a tall man with an adorable box-like smile.

All the men nodded in agreement and chorused out a "Hello, welcome to the magic shop!" in one voice. They introduced themselves too, and I found out that the dimple man was Kim Namjoon, the 2nd man was Kim Seokjin, the catlike one was Min Yoongi, the one with the heart smile was Jung Hoseok, the mochi-like one was Park Jimin, the bunny-like one was Jeon Jungkook, and the one with the box smile was Kim Taehyung.

They prepared me a cup of hot tea, and I drank it while looking above at the galaxy. I eventually told them about my struggles and they shared theirs. A whole hour passed by, filled with the sounds of laughter and tears, it was truly the most euphoric memories ever for me. But of course, everything eventually has to come to an end.

Jimin checked the clock and nodded at the others. "Already?" Taehyung said sadly.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"It's time for you to leave," replied Jimin sadly.

"What do you mean? I want to stay here with you guys! I don't want to be left alone in the darkness again," I exclaimed.

"We would love for you to stay here also, but that would just be selfish. You have a whole lifetime ahead of you. Besides," said Hoseok, holding up a heart pendant with a door engraved on it, "We'll always be waiting here, in the door of your heart, so that you'll never walk alone,"

I took the pendant from him and put it on.

"Hey, promise me that you'll be here next time!" I said.

Jimin held up his pinkie finger and intertwined it with mine.

"That's a promise, now and for eternity," he said with a cute eye smile.

I took a deep breath and walked towards the door with tears in my eyes.

"I'll miss you guys!" I said.

"Hey, don't say that, it makes it sound like we'll never meet again!" said Taehyung with a bright box smile. I smiled too and walked out the door. As I looked back over my shoulder, I could see them smiling with tears in their eyes and waving a silent "See you again" to me. I smiled and waved back. As I walk through my path of life, sometimes I'll feel sad. On days when I hate being me, when I just want to disappear, I can always come back to the place that I found, in the galaxy that is my heart.

I'll be alright, because this is a magic shop.
