Chapter 4

3rd POV

It was Monday and everyone came back to school, All of the students headed to their first period class. Ms. Fukui was taking roll of all the students but paused when she realized that Kokichi didn't answer. "He's late again? Has anyone seen Kokichi?" She asked looking around the class. No one answered and so she began writing in her book. Kaede leaned over to Rantaro and whispered, "Kokichi is skipping again huh.. Wait.. Didn't you pick him up today?" He looked at her shook his head. "He said he'd come to school later, I told him he shouldn't be skipping school but he ignored me." They both sighed and went back to looking at the front bored. Once Ms. Fukui was done writing what she was writing in her book she made the morning announcements, after that she allowed the students to talk to each other and go to their Ultimate Labs. Kaede went over to Maki who sat next to Miu, Kaede took an open chair and sat next to the two.

"Good morning Kaede." Maki. Said with a small smile on her face, Miu looked up from her phone and looked at Maki and Kaede before saying Hi and then looking back to her phone. "I guess she's not talking much today huh?" Kaede said laughing to herself. "I'd prefer if it stayed that we really, but apparently shes texting someone she met at the arcade." Kaede looked at Maki looking a little confused then at Miu, she could see she was smiling a lot and looked really happy texting with whoever she was texting with. Kaede smiled then started chatting with Maki talking about her morning, her date with Shuichi today, what might be for lunch- "Wait you have a date with Shuichi?!" Miu said a bit too loud, causing a few people to turn their heads including Shuichi's. Kaede started blushing and quickly hushed Miu up, "Don't be too loud!" She whispered yelled.

"Ok so who asked who out? And when?!" Miu said completely losing sudden interest in who she was texting. "Um he asked me out, the day we went to the arcade." Maki had a look of surprise on her face, "What's wrong Maki?" Kaede asked "Well.. I'm actually surprised Shuichi asked you." She said to her. "Surprised?" "Well yeah, I know we've been to this school for almost a month and a half, it's just.. Knowing how shy and somewhat cowardly Shuichi is I'm just surprised. But I'm happy too, you can tell him how you feel about him." When Kaede heard he say that she had some doubts, can I really tell him how I feel? I don't want to make things awkward between us.. what if he doesn't feel the same and he just wants to stay friends? Maki pulled Kaede out of her thoughts seeing that she was overthinking it.

"Try not to worry so much ok? I'm just saying you'll have plenty of chances to tell him, when the right one comes you'll know." She gave her a gentle smile and nodded, "You're right, I shouldn't get so worried. I should really be focusing on what I'm going to wear today." She said laughing. "Oh! Don't forget to wear nice lingerie, and you'll also need condoms too." Miu said laughing Kaede was blushing like crazy at Miu's comment, "Quiet.." Maki said glaring at Miu. "HhhheeeeEeee!" Miu said cowering behind Kaede. Maki made Miu apologize to Kaede and continued talking to each other. A few minutes passed and those who left class were either in their Ultimate labs or wandering around the halls, while everyone else was either socializing or finishing up home for other classes. Kokichi finally strolled into class drinking a grape flavored panta, with a late slip in one hand and the panta in the other. "Glad you could finally make it Mr. Oma.. I see you decided not to skip my class today." Ms. Fukui said tapping her foot with her arms crossed

"Nee-heehee, and good morning to you Ms. Fukui, I see you're looking well today!" Kokichi said with a grin. "So do you want to explain why you're so late?" She looked at him waiting for an answer, He stared at her with a blank expression before he started smiling. "I think we get up way too early in the morning, So I decided to sleep just for a few minutes. Then when I woke up I got washed and dressed, after that I decided that since I'm already so late I mind as well get me some breakfast. And so I ate breakfast at home then took a nice long walk here!" Ms. Fukui looked at him with disappointment before dismissing him, He decided to sit in the seat in between Rantaro and Shuichi. "Morning you guys! Did you guys miss me? You did, didn't you? I bet you two were thinking "Oh no! Kokichi won't be here to make the day more exciting!" Right?" Well I'm here now" Kokichi said taking a sip of his beverage. Rantaro and Shuichi just sat there staring at him, "So what made you decide to come?" Rantaro asked Kokichi. "I know you said later but I just thought you'd come around lunch or not at all really." Kokichi made a poker face before giving them a mischievous smile, "Well that was a lie of course.. I can't just keep skipping school! There'd be some serious consequences I'd have to face!" As he said that he leaned back into his chair, "so what were you two doing before I got here?" Rantaro looked at Shuichi to see if it was ok for him to tell Kokichi what he just told him, Shuichi nodded. "Shuichi has a date later on today, So I was telling him some nice places he should go with."
