It's fucking cold. And wet. This shit sucks.

My butt is frozen to the metal bleacher seats, and my toes are a few minutes away from frost bite. The wind whips my dark red hair into my face and the hair gets caught on my lipgloss.

My best friend, Abby, is huddled against me. The only reason we are at the homecoming game is because her boyfriend is on the football team. I really have no clue about football, my family was never one to watch sports opting for movies and tv shows instead. I don't think Abby even really knows what's going on with the game right now, but she's cheering nonetheless.

"YAAAAAA!! YOU GO BABE!" Abby stands up and screams. The girls next to her give her a look, but don't comment. It might be because the other team has the ball and Abby's boyfriend is on the bench right now, but I don't know.

I'm about to tell Abby the I'm too cold and I'm going to head home, when something hits the back of my head. I turn and look around seeing nothing, and then I look down. A paper airplane is lying on the ground behind me.

I pick it up and unfold it, half expecting nothing to be on it. I'm sorta surprised when there is actually stuff written on it. Call me ;) 612-346-176, I can't tell if the last number is a 8 or a 3 because it's smudged from the rain.

I turn around and look up at the bleachers. Nobody is looking at me or the deconstructed airplane in my hand. I put the piece of paper into my pocket and I turn back to the game in front of me and decide to wait it out.

A while later I'm walking to the concession stand to get hot chocolate for Abby and I, when I hear laughing from behind the bleachers. I peek my head around one of the beams supporting the bleachers, and see a group of boys.

It's the hockey crowd. Alex, James, Carter, and Luke, are all standing near each other, with Alex and Carter leaning on the fence and the other two in front of them. They all have on the Two Lakes High school hockey jerseys, presumably to cheer the football team on. Luke is on the phone with someone, looking sullen, while the rest of the boys look like they are trying not to laugh.

"Babe, I'm sorry. It's not you, it's me," Luke is saying, "I just don't think I'm ready for a serious relationship."

A snort is let lose from someone in the group, I turn my head and look at Alex, the same time he looks right at me. He cocks his head and looks at me, as if asking "what are you doing here?" I decide this is my time to take my great escape, and turn quickly on my heal and speed walk to the concession stand.

"Wait! Hey, hey, hey," someone grabs my arm. I turn quickly and jerk it off. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you," Alex shoots me a wry grin, "so, can you like, not tell Luke's girlfriend- er, ex girlfriend that we were laughing at their breakup?"

"Um sure, so, um, why were you laughing at them?" I asked, confused.

"Oh. Well it's because she's a total bitch, who we knew wouldn't go down without a fight. We were honestly just laughing at Luke's attempts to console her."

"Oh," I replied to that weird admission, but boys are boys I guess, "okay. Well I don't even know who he's dating so you don't have to worry about me. So I guess I'll see you around then." I start turn to get into the line.

"Yea, I'll see you," he says with a wave of his hand. He then runs his hands through his curly hair, which causes the light to hit his light blue eyes that look like sea glass with the light through them.

He's actually really hot. My mind realizes all of a sudden. I've never really looked at him in that way, but with his chiseled jaw and high cheekbones paired with tan skin and dark hair, he looks like he could be on the cover of GQ.

"Yea. Bye." I do the awkward hand wave thing, and turn back, all of a sudden feeling weird around Alex. I hear his footsteps as he walks off and place my order because I'm suddenly at the front of the line.

I carefully walk back to where me and Abby are sitting, making sure not to spill.

"Thanks, that took you a bit?" She says once I sit down and give her her drink.

"Yea, it was a long line," I give her that excuse, wondering why I didn't tell her the truth. "So, do you know is Alex is dating anyone?" I have no clue why I just asked that.

"Alex Hemming or Alex Waters?" She asks.

"Hemming." I say, remembering seeing the name on the back of his jersey.

"Not at the moment, but he has and on again-off again relationship with Ava. Why do you want to know? Have the hots for Mr. Hockey star?" She over dramatically fans herself like she's on fire. I laugh at her being her theater kid self.

"No, I just saw him and was thinking about it," I have to say I'm a little saddened to know that he is interested in someone, even though I don't know why I care.

"Oh. Ok then," she dismisses it. I spend the rest of the game thinking about the sea glass eyes and bouncy hair.
