The debate just got finished. I won the event. I received a trophy as being the winner of the debate. This is such a wonderful recognition to me. The people who support me especially my mom. I would've done this without her on my side. I'm just so grateful. That's why I'm giving all my gratitude to them. I am truly happy right now. My mother's going to love this for sure.
"Congratulations, Esq. Castlein. I knew that you can defend your stand whatever the subject matter or issue is." Hogwood complimented me. I was flattered because I wasn't really expecting that I would get signed up for this. He had seen my previous performances.
"Thank you so much, manager. It really means a lot to me." I responded with a smile on my face. The manager just smiled. Other than that, I was speechless. I was already out of words due to jolliness.
While walking to the exit of the auditorium, two women were running towards my direction, calling my name. "Esq. Castlein!" The woman who shouted my name waved at me. "Congratulations! You were so good earlier!" Said by the woman. "Yes, your logical rebuttals are truly the best!" Said by the other woman.
"Thank you so much to the both of you!" I showed my gratitude to them showing them a jolly face.
We were about to exit the auditorium, then suddenly my mother called, I answered the call. "Hello, mom."
"Aerith..." Her voice was shaking when she addressed my name.
I suddenly started to get worried about her, which made me gulped. "Mom? What's wrong?"
"What's happening, esq.?" The manager asked.
"Aerith... There's a riot here. The anarchists have arrived. The mass murderers. They're rioting against the authorities. There are killings happening here." From her shivering voice, I could say that she's terrified, so do I. I'm having goosebumps here. Meanwhile, I heard a bomb exploded on the call. "Aerith!" She screamed my name crying, which panicked me.
"Shit!" I rushed out of the auditorium to get a taxi to go home.
"Esq., where are you going!?" I had no time to explain to the manager. I apologize, for this is an emergency.
