Chapter LII - Bechloe: Seahorse Seashell Party

"Do we really have to babysit tonight?" Beca whined as her wife of two years was getting ready in the bathroom.

"For the hundredth time, Becs, yes."

"Stacie has all of the people in the world to look after Bella but she chooses us..."

"Oh, quit being such a baby!" Chloe laughed.

"But I'm your baby..." Beca put her arms around Chloe's waist and rested her head against her back.

Chloe smiled at the contact and gently rubbed her wife's arms.

"Yes, you are. You're my baby who needs to get ready. We've got to be at Stacie and Aubrey's in forty minutes and we have to leave here in fifteen so get going, Mrs. Mitchell."

"Fine," Beca huffed then left the bathroom.

Chloe shook her head with a small smile, not surprised by Beca's stubborn behaviour. Even though Chloe had been with Beca for about twelve years, she kept falling more and more in love with the woman each day. They had come so far together as a couple and their relationship only grew stronger as time went on, however, things weren't exactly roses recently. Chloe decided a little while ago that she wanted a baby. She thought about it for a long time before bringing the subject to Beca. The couple always talked about getting married and starting a family together. They got the married part down alright but the family part was still yet to happen. Chloe thought that Beca would have been open to the idea but unfortunately, she wasn't. Sadly, Beca told Chloe that she wasn't ready for kids just yet. Even though she had been a famous music producer for about two years now, she wanted to enjoy that a bit more before having kids.

Chloe was heartbroken, to say the least. She honestly thought that after being together so long and being married for two years, Beca would have been ready for kids but she wasn't. Over time, Chloe tried to talk to Beca again about having kids but Beca's response was always the same. Eventually, Chloe didn't bring it up anymore. The redhead hoped that one day Beca would finally come around and decide she wanted kids but she wasn't sure when or IF that was going to happen. Beca and Chloe were at that age where it was a good time to have kids and Chloe didn't want to miss that window. She wasn't scared that her relationship was going to fall apart if Beca still didn't want to have kids. She and Beca were strong and nothing could have torn them apart.

Tonight, Beca and Chloe were asked to babysit Stacie and Aubrey's daughter, Bella. Beca wasn't happy about it since she wasn't a kid person but Chloe was thrilled. She loved Bella and she loved looking after her. She was a great kid and she really made Stacie grow up a lot. It was as if Stacie was a completely different person but she was still the same Stacie Conrad that Beca, Chloe, and the Bellas loved. If it was just a few hours of babysitting, Beca probably wouldn't have complained so much but Stacie and Aubrey were staying out overnight and wouldn't be back until the following day. That meant that Beca had to be with a child for longer than she had ever been with one. She wasn't happy about it but seeing how optimistic and excited Chloe was made Beca think that it might not be so terrible but then again, this was Chloe. The woman had the ability to turn any bad situation into a good one. It was her secret power in Beca's eyes and one of the many things the brunette loved about her wife.

"Ready to go, stud?" Chloe asked.

"Chloeee!" Beca whined.

"What?"

"We're going to babysit Stacie and Aubrey's kid and you call me that! You know what it does to me!"

Chloe laughed then wrapped her arms around the brunette.
