Hers ended with one.
It was her first, and the last she would ever receive in a very, very long time.
She thought about this often, and she thought about this now- sitting in her now empty room. The bare walls were but ghostly echo of what they had once been- colourful expanses of paper and sprawling words.
She had watched as strange men carried each one of her precious possessions in big, wooden boxes with little care. Did they not realize that it was her life they were dismantling with their ugly wooden crates?
Her mother had told her that it hardly mattered. After all, she would get her things back in a month, and would place them in her new house, in a new country.
A new country, a new home, a new start.
A new life away from Elliot, the only boy she would ever love.
