Bright red flames ate away at the walls of a building as if it were a man that was starved for many days. Crackles and pops can be heard as well as sirens and crying all around. Young women hugged their children as their husbands worked on putting the fire out along with firefighters. Screams for help can hardly be heard from inside but no one dared to make a move for the doorways are blocked by the raging fire. A young boy holding a new born baby begged the police to go inside and save his older sister but it did nothing to convince them to move. Silence seemed to fill the air as sorrow entered the hearts of everyone. But it soon turned to shock as a blueish-green colored light flew across the sky and into the three story home. Confusion as well as hope filled every person that watch the home in fear.
Within the building a young women no older then 28 was trying to break a bullet proof window open using a lamp to get fresh air. She was rather tall with long brown hair and fair skin. Her gray eyes glanced around the master bedroom frantically for anything that could help her escape as she dropped the lamp in hand. Her breathing was shallow as the black smoke entered the room from under the closed door. Tears escaped her eye as she turned to look out the window, watching her little brother hold her baby crying as well. She thanked God that they were down on the first floor in the living room when the fire started. Her brother looked at her and cry-ed harder as she blow him a small kiss to ensure him that she was alright, for she already knew that there was no escape for her. The bedroom door was already being attacked by the fire. She smiled softly as she leaned against the wall beside the window and slide down it slowly. She didn't smile because of the thought of death but because of all the memories replaying in the back of her mind of her family. Letting go of hope but not faith, the lady allowed her eyes to close as she said a grateful praise to her saviour, but they quickly opened back up slightly at the sound of footsteps. She tried to stand but it was no use, she was too weak from the lock of air. The footsteps went past the room and she grew desperate to get up. When she tried to call out for help it turned into a coughing fit. The lady cleared her throat out before giving out a sound similar to the sound of an wild animal. The footsteps stopped before coming back towards the door.
"Hello? Is anybody in here?" She can tell by the voice that it was a young male.
"Yes... I'm.. I'm.. in here!" The young women called as hope filled her once again. The pace of the footsteps quickened before the door busted open. She was unsure at first at the sight before her but tried to focus her eyes on the male that opened the door. He seemed rather short, almost five feet tall, with sun yellow eyes. She blinked the tears from her eyes and ashes as she took in his looks. He was no man at all but rather a silver-ish colored hedgehog. He wore white gloves with blue pysichic circles on the palm and back of each hand. Golden bracelets hung tightly around his wrists with light psychi flowing through them. His navy blue knee high boots with a white strip in the middle and teal tips looked shiny in the lighting of the room. His boots also had a grey bottom rim with a slight heel, golden rims on the top of the boots with psychi flowing through, and a red square in the middle right under the gold rims. He had five thick quills sticking out on the top of his head. A frown appeared on his peach coloured muzzle at the site of the lady. Her face looked oddly pail and her eyes seemed a dark pinkish-red. The hedgehog rushed to her and kneels beside her. She looked at him with pleading eyes and he sighed heavily in relief of finding her alive.
"Are you injured in anyway miss?" She shook her head no slowly and he gave her a small smile.
"Can you stand without assistance?" She gave a shrug before trying to stand on her own. He placed one arm around her waist and helped her stand carefully, after a moment of her struggling. She leaned on him for support as he lead her to the door quickly. The flames climbed the walls on both sides of the hallway, eating away at family portraits and little metals. A large part of the roof fell down behind them, scaring them into turning around at the sound of the thud. They turned back around and continued walking as the light from the fire coasted dark shadows that looked as it they were dancing. Thick black smoke slowly creeped its way down to them, blocking most of there vision. The young boy wanted so badly to fly but knew that it would not only be harder for him to see but for her to breath as well.
