The next morning I woke up feeling revived. I didn't even know why but I couldn't remember anything about yesterday. It was fine because I didn't think anything of it. I was still laying in bed when I heard a tapping at the window. I got up and opened the window.
'Hey there beautiful!' Smiled the handsome young man.
'Excuse me? That is no way to talk to a princess, let alone a lady!' I scuffed.
'Oh don't be so sour Crystal!' he said smiling with one eyebrow slanted. 'I know that 'tis the fine morn but come down, stop playing with my heart!' He stated almost impatient.
I didn't bother putting my dress on myself. I was too bewildered by this man that with just the wave of my wand, I was already dressed. I scurried down the grand stairs and made my way to the garden where he stood. As soon as I was down there he grabbed me by the waist and spun me around.
'PUT ME DOWN OR I WILL CALL THE-' I didn't even get a chance to finish my sentence with 'guard' when he kissed me. I jolted down and backed away. 'You sir!' I began, but he interrupted me. 'What is bothering you today my love.' he joked. 'I am not your love and I am certainly NOT your girlfriend!' I yammered on.
'What are you talking about Crystal. Is it something I've said? Has it been my poor attitude?'
'Defiantly not!' I screamed. 'I ask you to leave, kind sir, before I called the guard.' I said in a manned tone. I finally calmed down.
He looked at me confused, angrily and saddened at the same time, as he left. My father came out in a hurry.
'Who was that?! Was that Zayn?!? What is HE doing here?!' 'Father please! I shooed him away! 'Tis alright now father!' I tried to calm him down.
'I'm sorry my darling. I just don't want strangers toughing my daughter.' He said looking down. 'Don't worry father. I know you are only trying to protect me. As I said, I have shooed him off.' He was eyeing me.
I knew if I told him what happened, he would go after the young man named Zayn. I had no idea why, but for some reason, I felt like I knew him from some where. I shrugged off the feeling. I went inside to my stables, grabbed my bow and arrow, and headed off into the forest with my horse Angus. I had two horses. One was Angus and one was Rufus. I usually rode Angus so today I did the same as everyday. As we rode off to my usual spot in the forest, we suddenly stopped. I poofed him up a nice, orange, carrot and a juicy apple. He gobbled it up in a few bites! I started laughing until I heard something rustling in the bushes. I turned and aimed my arrow. A bunny hoped out of the bushes and I screamed. Angus started to whinny as I tried to calm him down again. Then, I heard another rustling in the bushes and this time I knew that it was not another bunny. Or any other animal for that matter.
I slowly walked up to the bush and tapped a branch. Something blue jumped out and onto the rocky path. I shot an arrow at it but the arrow went straight through! I lightly put a protective force field around me and my beloved horse. But when I looked at this little creature, I somehow knew it was not here to harm me. It almost reminded me of something, something like a fairytale. Then I suddenly remembered an old fairytale my mother and father used to tell me. To me it was more of a rhyme. It went like this:
On the set of the sun thou shall not sleep. Dancing in their groups of BERYL. Laying await on the one who will find their fate. But beware, go at your own will. Thy Wisps await my child.
At the time, since I was still little, I did not know what BERYL meant. Now that I am older, I know that it means another color of blue. As I retain my memory of all the stories, only one keeps coming to mind. That one. The one with the little blue ghosts. Then it comes to me. These are not blue ghosts! These are The Will Of The Wisps! They will supposedly show me the way to my fate. I eased up on my bow and started to follow the wisp. One by one, they popped up one after the other. It kept leading me deeper and deeper into the forest. I even passed some parts that I did not know. But I was a curious girl so I kept on. I kept following it until I came to a little spot in the woods. There were no trees or vegetation in this one spot. I looked around. There were no more Will of the Wisps. When I looked at Angus he was still far behind. To another person, that was normal, but not my horse. He followed me everywhere since I was little. I loved him very much and he was a protective horse. This time though, he was planted. 'Angus come.' I said but he just swayed. He must've had a bad feeling about this place. I had so many questions. Why was I lead here? What does this have to do with me? What am I supposed to find here? I took another look around and turned to leave when I saw it. I defiantly knew I was not dreaming. There was a little hut in the middle of the unvegetated area. I was sure this was not there before. On the front there was a sign. Ir read:
Pottery and magic shop! Yes, we are open!
I walked in quietly and cautiously. The hut was filled with books and shelves and everything was dark on the inside. I didn't notice, but there was an old, weary lady in the corner. She hadn't turned around when she said:
'Welcome my darling! See anything you like?' I was so startled that I jumped.
'Um, I was lead here by-' I stopped myself. I didn't want to sound like a child. 'I wandered too far into the forest when I came upon your store!' I finally said.
When she turned, she almost looked surprised, but with a smile on her face. 'Well well well. Arn't you the princess of Casalabra?' (That was the name of my castle!) She said almost taunting me.
'Why yes! In fact I am!' I said with triumph on my face and my hands at my hips!
'What are you doing here.... alone?' She asked. 'Has the spell warn off already?' 'Spell? What spell. I didn't come here because of a spell!' I was now confused.
'Oh.. uh.... That is just witch-craft humor! Ive gotten pretty old and lonely and I need someone to tell my jokes to. I'm sorry if I startled you my dear.' She granted. 'Oh that is fine. I.. uh.. need to know what exactly you sell here... I mean, just for reference. Maybe I might buy something of the sort.' I stated.
'Well' she started, 'I do sell pots and plates made of clay, and a couple of old knick-knacks like these wooden spoons and back scratchers!' She said wistfully. I smiled half-hearted. 'That isn't exactly what I'm looking for.' I said as I turned to leave.
'I do sell other things.' She said waiting for me to turn. When I did, she was smiling slyly.
'What are you talking about?' I asked. 'Of course one would not name their store Pottery and magic if there was no magic involved, now would they?' She said.
I felt oddly uncomfortable. Maybe she is onto me. Maybe she knows I can do magic too. 'Umm, no they wouldn't..... I should be going now.... nice meeting you!' I said as I hurried out the door.
'Bye bye my child! Tell Zayn I say hello.' she yelled behind me.
At this point, I stopped running. I was infuriated. I had so many questions that could not be answer or asked to anyone. They would think I'm crazy if I did! How did she know Zayn? Did she know who he was? If in fact she didn't, was she only doing this to lure me back? Had she sensed that I had magical abilities too? I turned around, and when I did, everything was gone. The hut, the merchandise, the witch; EVERYTHING! I didn't even bother riding back. I poofed myself back to my castle and my horse back to his stable. I was called to the dinner table but I did not go down. I told my mother I wasn't eating tonight. I poofed on my night gown and went to bed early. I would say around 8:30. That night I dreamt the most horrifying things...........
