"An eyebrow raised at me is what set all this bullshit off. Impulse control was a huge problem of mine. Was? More like still is, and probably always will be. You're most likely thinking: 'Jimin, what are you talking about?'
Well, if you wait a moment and stop being impatient, I can well you. You see, I'm Park Jimin, and surprisingly, this story isn't really about me. I made a mistake which caused a rollercoaster of terrible, terrible events, and yet they ended with a fun end for most people. Most people except me. But I guess this is what I deserve, huh?"
The doctor nods along to Jimin's story, taking notes and Jimin fidgets with his hands.
"Are you even listening? I feel so used by you, Mister Doctor Man. I feel like you should give me more attention. At least answer my questions," Jimin hums out in a single breath. How he speaks is almost like a song. A song so captivating that I can't help but listen. The doctor finally speaks, "I'm sorry, Jimin. I had a long night. You understand, don't you? I'm going to try to be more attentive and I'm sorry for any other mishaps on my part."
Jimin smiles brightly. "Oh, you should've just told me! I'll tell this story now, no questions asked. Well, maybe a few questions, but I'll try to keep them to a minimum. Okay, where was I? Oh yea, the beginning!" Jimin giggles as if he said a funny joke. A buzzer sounds in the room and the doctor groans. Jimin pouts and talks in a fake sad voice, "Where did all of the time go?" The doctor smiles, "You sang for the first two hours, and while you have a lovely voice it didn't leave much time for talking."
"You think I have a lovely voice?"
"Yes, Jimin. It's very beautiful."
"You think I could be a singer like those BTS boys?"
"If I didn't know better I would say you were already a part of them."
The doctor nods to me and I escort Jimin back to his room. I'm Jimin's personal guard at the Seoul Psychiatric Ward and Mental Hospital. I escort him from place to place and I am with him at all times. I was hired specifically by his company to make sure that his stay here fully recovered his memory from the accident. What accident, you say? I'll have to let Jimin tell you. I only gather bits and pieces from the things he says in his sleep. Jimin looks up to me and begins to speak, which is very out of turn. "Alright, big guy, what's your story, huh?"
"I have worked here for seven months and I am your personal guard."
"No, I mean your name and where you're from and your childhood."
"I'm not allowed to tell you my name for my own safety."
Jimin pouts and sits on his bed. He looks around the room and back at me. He falls back onto the bed in a fit of laughter. "Is there anything I can call you? Can I call you... Sejin? I feel like I knew a Sejin before I got here, so that's what I'll call you. Why are you always in the corner of my room Sejin?"
"I like the corner."
"When do you sleep?"
"I sleep when you sleep."
"What if I never sleep?"
"Than I'll never sleep."
"You're really dedicated to me."
I nod.
"Does that mean you're my best friend, Sejin?"
"I guess it does." I let a small chuckle out. Jimin seems pleased with my response. He snuggles into his bed and pulls on the small yellow dog plushie. "Goodnight, Sejinnie!"
I walk out of his room into my own room that's connected to his. I watch him on the monitor, tossing and turning. He finally settles into a position and into a deep sleep. I close my eyes and begin to drift off myself.*THUNK*
My eyes shoot open.
