There's this thing called sleeping paralysis. It's when you are asleep but you half wake up still in a paralyzed state that your body goes into naturally when you are sleeping. Terrifying things can happen when you are in the middle of sleeping paralysis. Your nightmares come to life and you can see them vividly until you wake up completely, then they all disappear.
I have sleeping paralysis.
---
I was lying in bed when it happened. I woke up, my body still frozen. I couldn't move anything but my eyes. I woke up facing the door, it was closed when I went to bed last night. It's open now. I saw it move, it creaked a little, but then slammed shut. If I weren't paralyized, I would have flinched. The posters on my wall started shredding. Rips tore through them and they fell pieces at a time onto the floor. My bookshelf feel over right in front of me. Pieces of paper and ornaments scattered everywhere on the floor.
In the corner of my eye, I saw it. I always see it. But when I try to force my neck to move so I can see it more clearly, it moves away and to the other side of the room. This happens every time. All I can see of it is its shadow and the matted hair covering the red smile. It's always like this. It jumps up right in front of me. Its raspy voice whispers to me. I've heard it so many times that I try and say it along with it.
"Go. To. Sleep."
My timing was perfect, but as usual, I think to myself, "But I wont wake up".
But I know that I'm not waking up anyways.

This is my world now. I'm frozen in the same spot, and I can't move. It's always there and it always says the same thing. Someday I hope I can get out of this but it feels like it has been years since I have moved. To everyone else it just looks like I'm sleeping, but to me, my eyes are open and I can see the one creature I fear the most. Its cut smile gives me nightmares and the black rings around its eyes gives me the creeps. To everyone else, I am in a coma, and cant move at all. I guess thats half true. but this is sleeping paralysis.
Sleeping paralysis isn't something doctors can diagnose you with. I can't tell anyone how I got here, or that I'm still alive. It's only a matter of time before life support gets switched off.
I think I should probably read the label of pills before I take them. Especially if you steal them from a guy in a black mask with red eyes and mouth and a tan hoody.
