Seamus entered the ballroom wearing a black tux and a smart bow tie. His eyes took in swirls of colors as girls in gowns of every color glided on the dance floor with handsome gentlemen. The high ceiling curved into a domed skylight, so that the stars were all the decoration the room needed. Many celebrities were at the gala and all the royal family was in attendance. Suddenly, Seamus noticed a girl in a bright pink dress with her hair in curls and pinned ornately. She turned his way and when their eyes met all others around him vanished.
His friend, Sam, elbowed him in the side and cleared his throat. Seamus turned to look at him.
"What?"
"Let's find some ladies to take home."
"You have fun with that, Sam. I'm going to dance with her."
"Who?"
"That gir-" Seamus looked back to where she had been a few seconds before, but she was gone, lost in the crowd somewhere.
"I'll let you know when I find her again."
Sam claps Seamus on the back.
"I'm gonna find a drink and a broad."
