It's been  a day since Stefan's birthday and the party. I took the day off from my job, just wanting to sulk in bed. But today is a new day, and I was bored of sulking.

"Where do you think you're going to go?" I heard Stefan say as I walked passed Damon's room.

"I don't know" I heard Damon answer. "Maybe Paris."

"You're leaving?" I asked, my voice cracking. Damon turned to look at me, his eyebrows furrowed.

"I don't have anything left for me here" Damon spoke. I glanced between Stefan and Damon before shaking my head.

"Are you leaving too?" I asked Stefan, to which he nodded. I scoffed, leaving the room. I grabbed my phone and car keys, planning on leaving the house for a little while. Later I'll come back and grab my other things to bring back to the apartment. I needed a break. Unfortunately I had work in an hour, so I couldn't just disappear. I got in my car, before starting it and leaving the house. Half of me wanted Damon to come stop me before I left. But that was stupid to hope, considering he was a vampire who didn't care like normal people. I drove miles away from town, before pulling over to the side of the road. I climbed out of the car, before locking it and walking through the field. I was only walking for a couple minutes when I came to some trees. Passed the beginning of the trees, I saw some stones that looked like it was a house. A pentagram was drawn into the dirt, and the whole place seemed to have a weird aura. I pulled out my phone, checking the time. I had a few minutes to check the place out. I took a deep breath and allowed my thoughts to wander as I explored the place I found. Everyone leaves when I grow attached. My ex-boyfriend left me. My parents died. Damon is leaving. Hell, even Stefan. If I didn't know any better I'd think it was my fault everyone leaves. But it couldn't be my fault... Could it? After some reflection on recent events, I quickly left not wanting to be late to work.

"Are you sure you're fine?" Clark asked as I packed up my station.

"I'm fine" I assured, not looking up from what I was doing.

"If you say so..." Clark trailed off as he didn't seem convinced. "Have a good night."

"Thanks. You too." I grabbed my things, heading out to my car. As I dug through my bag for my keys, someone had snuck up on me. Except I didn't notice until I got hit in the back of the head and I passed out. I woke up a while later, and found myself in the trunk of a car. I felt around, trying to keep as calm as I could in this situation. For all I knew, I could've been in Georgia right now. It didn't seem like the car was moving. Maybe I could get out without being noticed? Before I could do anything, I heard the front doors open. Other than that, all I heard was murmuring. Suddenly everything went silent, and the car was moving.  Feeling around the floor of the trunk, I searched for anything I could use to attract attention to the kidnapping that was going on. I still had my phone in my pocket, so I took it out and used the flashlight. I squinted at the sudden bright light, my eyes adjusting quickly. I found a gun, and I scooted away from it. I knew nothing from guns, and I didn't want it to accidentally have it go off. Next I found a wrench, which was covered in blood. My head began to pound from the bright light and I winced. I felt the back of my head, my hand coming away sticky and red. Blood. If this was somehow a vampire, I'm happy he didn't lose control when he smelled it. The car suddenly came to a stop, causing my head to slam against the seats. I stayed quiet, hoping he wouldn't come open the trunk, Just in case, I grabbed the wrench, and waited. Minutes passed and nothing happened. The sound of sirens came closer, and I let out a sigh of relief. "Hey!" I yelled, banging on the top of the trunk. "Get me out of here!" Within seconds the trunk was open, and flashing lights filled my vision.

"Danica?" Damon asked, pulled me out of the trunk. He stood me up, and I wavered a little bit.

"I think she got hit on the head... We may need to bring her to the hospital" the sheriff spoke. I watched as Damon's pupils dilated.

"You're bleeding" he spoke, pulling his hand away which now had blood on it. "Take her, please" Damon pushed me onto the sheriff, and I leaned against her. "I'm sorry I didn't kill him the first time, but trust me on this. Next time I see him, he will be dead." With that, Damon got in his car and left.

"Danica right?" The sheriff asked, which I nodded. "I'm sheriff Forbes."

"It's nice to meet you" I mumbled.

"It's nice to meet you too" she smiled faintly. "I'm going to get you to the hospital."

Damon's POV:

It was easy to track Logan down, he stupidly went back to where I had found him earlier. He thought we had a deal. He's going to be surprised when I kill him and tell him the deal is off. I climbed out of my car, meeting Logan in the parking lot of the abandoned warehouse.

"We were suppose to meet somewhere else" Logan spoke, confused.

"The deal's off" I spoke, glaring at him.

"W- why?" Logan asked. "Is it because I took that little human of yours? Are you really going to choose her over Katherine?"

"She's innocent. There was no reason for you to take her" I seethed.

"You really like her don't you? You're going to have to choose. Katherine or the human" Logan spoke with a smirk. I sped at him, standing face to face with him. He still had that stupid smirk...

"I choose the human" I hissed, before staking him in the heart. Logan turned gray before he fell to the ground. I felt confident in what I had done. If the others he had talked about want the other vampires out, they'll still come for me. They shouldn't have sent a tool to do their job for them. I'll get Katherine out somehow.
