Chapter One: Once Bitten, Twice Shy

(Hello readers! This is my first fan fiction, so please excuse any plot holes for now! Also, this starts Halloween afternoon, Deku is getting supplies for Class I-A's Halloween party)

Chapter One: Once Bitten, Twice Shy

"So, is that everything?" Midoriya asked, about to head out the door of the dorms with a list in his hand.

Iida replied quickly, "I have asked around, and yes that is all."

Midoriya folded up the list and tucked it in his pocket, "All right, I'll be back soon."

About 6 minutes later, Midoriya is walking down the sidewalk outside of Yuuei next to a forest, 'I hope I can get everything in time, everyone's counting on me to bring the party supplies back.' Midoriya muttered to himself. 'Ah, I'll take a shortcut through the forest!' Midoriya walked down into the forest, the afternoon sun lighting the way. Quickly though, his plan faltered as he realized he was lost. Midoriya paused, getting his phone out to get directions when he came to the realization it was dead. "I swear I charged it." Midoriya said to himself, as he began blindly walking through the forest. 'If I keep walking in the same direction, I should eventually reach the end.' Midoriya thought, trying to reassure himself. The sun was beginning to set, and soon the autumn air grew cold and bitter. "I-It's nighttime al-already!?" Midoriya stuttered, stunned. "Well, that means I must be close to the edge of the-" Midoriya was saying to himself, before a shadow quickly passing by a few trees ahead of him interrupted his mumbling. "Kacchan?" He said, to the shadow which had stopped. Suddenly, a low growling was heard...

Back at Yuuei, class 1-A was wondering why Midoriya was taking so long. "We should've told one of the heroes that Midoriya was leaving, like we're supposed to." Tsuyu said.

"Yeah, well we didn't! I'm sure Deku's fine. That damn nerd is gonna come through that door any minute. And if he's not okay... I'LL KILL HIM!" Bakugo said.

"Woah, I actually thought you cared about Midoriya for a second! You're getting much better Bakubro!" Kirishima said approvingly.

"DON'T CALL ME THAT!!!" Bakugo yelled at Kirishima.

"Calm down you two, we should be worrying about Midoriya right now!" Momo said.

"How about we watch the news while we wait?" Tsuyu croaked.

"Good idea, it'll help calm our nerves about Midoriya, who I believe is fine." Iida replied.

Tsuyu turned on the common room TV. "Breaking news! There is a villain loose with a "werewolf" quirk in Musutafu, last seen in a neighborhood near Yuuei high school. Police advise you stay inside, lock and barricade all doors and windows, and do not engage the villain. They should be easy to identify, looking like an over sized bipedal wolf. Lock and barricade all doors and windows, do not engage with the villain, and if bitten, get to the hospital as soon as the villain has been neutralized. Please keep the TV on for further police instruction." A young woman said, repeating the same thing. Tsuyu muted the TV, everyone standing silently, eyes wide in shock. "WHAT THE F-" Bakugo started, before stopping himself remembering the swear jar All Might had recently instated at the dorm.

"We're all gonna die!" Mineta cried, running to his room.

"Midoriya! We need to go and save him! He's our classmate after all, and it's our fault we didn't ask the heroes permission for him to go!" Kirishima said, trying to convince the others.

"Hold on, lets think rationally! We need to trust that the heroes can handle this!" Iida said firmly.

"But the heroes don't know about Midoriya!" Kirishima argued his point, the other students backing him.

"As class rep, I will not allow any sort of rescue mission. We are all to remain here, where we are safe, and I will call Mr. Aizawa and explain the situation. Although I doubt this "Werewolf" can get past the Yuuei barrier, we should barricade the doors." Iida said, blocking the door from his classmates as they all gave up and sat down on the common room couch. Suddenly, the door opened.

"B-Bakugo! This isn't a funny prank! I know it's y-you, so can just stop now!" Midoriya said, frightened as he had recently been jumpy. "I can see the ears and tail of your werewolf costume! I know it's you!" He frantically said as the growling got louder. Suddenly  large brown wolf lunged at Midoriya knocking him down, clawing and trying to bite him. "It's not Bakugo!?" Midoriya said, while blocking his face with his arms. "AH!" Midoriya cried out in pain as the wolf bit him. One for all 20%!  Midoriya said, punching the wolf in the chest. The wolf cried out in pain, before retreating into the forest. Midoriya sighed, "Now I have to get a rabies shot... but first I should stop the bleeding." He said weakly, as he had realized how much he was bleeding from the bite. "What was that?" He thought as he woosily tore a strip of cloth from his shirt and after applying a dressing applied a tourniquet. He stumbled for a while and found his way out of the forest and back to Yuuei. It was odd, no one was out on the streets trick-or-treating. When he got to Yuuei no one was outside. He realized that something about that wolf was wrong. It must have just been a large rabid wolf, he thought, people are just inside to avoid it. He was trying to be optimistic, but he knew something was wrong. It's probably best not tell anyone about the bite, they might do horrible things to me if they knew. He tried to quietly open the door after cleaning the blood off with his water bottle, but when he opened the door everyone was staring at him with panicked eyes, as if they were looking at a ghost.
