Volunteering for the search wasn't my idea. It was hers.
When I first heard about this whole project, I didn't know what to think. It started in the middle of the night. How many nights ago, I'm not sure. I've got too many things in my mind to keep track. She woke me from my deep sleep with a blood curdling scream. My eyes shot open, only to see darkness. Darkness, for what it seemed to stretch forever in every direction, and distant screams.
"Hello?" I asked, my voice faint. More screaming.
At this point, I was more confused than scared. Last thing I remembered was snuggling up in my bed. That's it, maybe I'm dreaming.
This isn't a dream, Noah. You aren't waking up.
A roll of heat traveled down my spine, and I looked behind me. There was nothing there.
"Who are you?"
Its me. Don't you remember me? I remember you, you know.
"What? Where am I?"
You are the chosen one. One of two needed in the search.
The search. Thats how it started. Of course, at the time, I had no idea what was going on, no idea how much trouble I was getting into.
"I'm so confused right now. What are you talking about?"
Your exporters will be here soon, Noah, I don't have much time.
"Time for what? Where are you taking me?"
You'll find out soon.
Far away, I could hear creaks, coming closer and closer.
One last thing; You can't give up.
That's when everything changed.
