Silent Scars

Chapter 1 The Beginning

I was any ordinary girl off the street. I had a great life, great boyfriend, great friends and great parents.

But that all changed for some reason... It felt like I was falling in a bottomless pit of sadness... I'll start from the beginning.

My name is Vanessa. I'm a sophomore in high school and I'm dating the hottest guy in school that's named Ryan. I was happy. Got good grades. Anything a girl could want basically.

I woke up at 6:48 a.m. I sighed softly and rolled off my bed. I quickly got into the shower and dried my wavy purple and black hair. I straightened my emo style hair quickly and carefully put in my earrings. Yes, my whole ear is practically pierced. I threw on an oversized black sweater with my black skinny jeans and converse.

I ran down my stairs to see my mother setting out breakfast. "Good morning..." I said softly setting my black and grey book bag behind my chair.

"Good morning sweetie!" She said kindly. My father just looked at me with a disgusted look on his face. I thought it was strange he never does that.

I look over and see my sister, Ashley not saying a word. She looked beautiful as usual with her blonde hair and blue eyes.

I sat down and ate my serving and went to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and put on some makeup.

"Thanks for the food! Bye, love you!" I said quickly and hurried out the door and to the bus stop where Ryan was waiting. I kissed his cheek and smiled.

"I have a surprise for you after school." He smiled. "Alright." I replied as the bus pulled up. We sat in the first seat.

We reached the school and I hurried to meet my friends. They usually wait for me but when I got off they weren't there.

'Thats strange...' I thought to myself.

Ryan got off the bus and we locked hands.

The bell rang I went to my class and sat in my usual spots with my friends; Isabell, Ashlyn and Abbi.

"Where were you guys today?" I asked them concerned and confused. Ashlyn gave me a snotty look. "What's it matter?" She said angrily. I sat there in shock. "We didn't feel like waiting for you." Isabell said as Ashlyn moved to a different seat.

Sooner or later school was over. My phone buzzed and I had gotten a text from Ryan.

"Meet at the woods over by the cemetery. Come quick!"

I closed my phone and rushed over there. When I got there he was with several of his friends. One looked over at me and smirked.

"Wow, look at this ugly, fat ass." One said. The others laughed.

Including Ryan.

"What's going on?!" I said confused. One approached me, grabbing me by the arm and throwing me down. Then kicking me in the ribs. I yelled in pain.

I was so confused. I didn't know what to do. I felt tears going down my face.

'Why...?' I thought to myself

Ryan walked over and punched me in the face as hard as he could. I spit out blood. I could feel my cheek swelling. "You're such an idiot!" He said as he stood up. "What'd make you think I'd want to actually date a fat, ugly, useless bitch like you?" He said growing angry and began to repetitively kick me in the stomach. He slammed his foot on my head and I yelled out in pain as I felt blood going down my face.

Once the beating was over. My whole body bruised the left me. Laying on the ground.
