It was a sunny, humid day. No clouds could be seen in the brilliant blue sky, and an angry middle aged woman sat stiffly in the front seat of a small Volkswagen. Music of Madonna my and Pat Benatar played obnoxiously on the radio. She turned angrily around in her seat.
" Angel," she yelled to a small girl of about three, sitting in the backseat, hugging a fuzzy teddy bear. "Remember your manners. Say please and thank you to the teachers when we arrive at the daycare."
" Yes, Mommy", she said, irritated, hugging her candy necklace. " I will."
Her mother smiled.
" Good girl, Angel."
They stepped out of the car, standing in front of a large, yellow, faded brick building.
" Little Angel Daycare And Play center,"read the sign above the door.
" Hey mommy,"Angel said, impatiently, tugging at her hand. " It has my name."
" You're right sweetie," her mother said. "It does."
They stepped inside the sliding glass doors, where a young lady patiently greeted them.
" Hi, your daughter is absolutely adorable!" she said sweetly, an artificial smile plastered on her face.Angel clutched her fuzzy bear close to her, feeling scared and anxious.
"What's this we have here?" she asked. " We don't allow any outside toys. They get confused with the ones from daycare."
" Angel absolutely loves her teddy bear." said her mother. "She can't be parted with it."
"Well, Im sorry, but it's just daycare policy. We don't make any exceptions."
" Can you just make one?," she pleaded. "For my daughter?"
" I'm sorry, I can't." She tugged at the soft, stuffed animal, pulling it away from Angel's arms.
Angel squealed, and sobbed great big tears, grabbing onto her beloved toy as tightly as possible.
With a desperate yank, the daycare lady pulled the teddy bear out of Angel's arms, and into her own.
"NOOOO", Angel squealed. " It's my teddy bear!!!"
She shoved the daycare lady aside, and lunged for the precious animal. She grabbed it just before it fell to the ground, hugging it tightly towards her.
" No one takes my teddy bear."

Later on, Angel tried making friends with other children at the preschool, but no one seem to want to talk to an aggressive, loudmouthed little girl who carried her precious little bear around like a lifeline. So eventually, she gave up trying to make friends and resorted to playing and eating lunch all by herself. One day, Angel, sad and lonely, was eating a peanut butter sandwich outside, of which her mom had packed for her in a plastic bag. She hugged her teddy bear close to her, burying her head in its soft fur.
"I love you," she whispered into its ears, caressing its small paws.
Suddenly, one of the older boys, taller, walked up to her table.
"Hey look it's the grizzly bear girl! She's always caring that stupid teddy bear around with her, like it's her best friend."
He walked up to the green table. Stealthliy, he snatched the teddy bear away from her, and threw it across the ground.
"I took your teddy bear. What are you going to do?"
Far away, from behind the large tree in the center of the playground, Mrs. Green, the day care lady, stood distracted.
"All of the children here are just perfect, except for that rotten little girl Angel. She can't part with that stupid bear."
"Here wait a second, I have to check on the children."
She walked slowly towards the wailing toddlers, calmly.
Suddenly, she stopped dead in her tracks.
She Gasped.
"ANGEL STOP!!!", she screamed. "LEAVE HIM ALONE."
She lunged, and grabbed Angel, who had climbed on top of the older child, and was now pummeling him to the ground.
She held her, and shook her fragile little body.
" ANGEL WHAT DID I TELL YOU?!! YOU ARE NOTHING BUT TROUBLE, YOU AWFUL, HIDEOUS LITTLE GIRL. IF I WAS YOUR MOTHER I WOULD BE ASHAMED TO SAY YOU'RE MY CHILD ..."
