I am at the hospital room and you were staring at me. You held my hand and checked on me. You're wearing a white gown.

When I told you I'm in love with you, you think I'm just a crazy kid so instead of loving me back, your prescription's a laugh. After that, you gave me a piece of apple.

When you saw me crying, you gave me a box of tissue without even checking if my tear duct malfunctions. But still, I'm happy 'cause you gave me a piece of apple.

When I got wounded by your words, you left me in the operation room. You asked other doctors to cure my wounds. You were out for another patient, your favorite one, and devoted your time for her. You chose to be there when she only got bruises and I'm about to lose my consciousness. But you gave me a piece of apple and she didn't receive any. At least, for that, I am happy.

When I am about to leave the hospital, I saw you in your warmest smile. This time, you gave me a box of apple.

I smiled, thinking of that famous idiom - The apple of the eye. I knew by then that you can love me back because you want me to feel better by giving me apple, each day. And now, I got more than a dozen to keep me going. I know, at that moment, you love me.

I don't wanna leave the hospital but i have no choice. Sadly, I walked towards the exit.

On the hospital's lobby, right behind the door, a big poster says, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away."

As I stepped out the door, I took my first bite of reality.
