The Crash

(I never thought I'd find myself writing an X reader fic. I used to hate these. And yet, here I am. Enjoy. Not gonna finish)

Sighing, you crawled out of the rubble that used to be your ship. You'd gotten sidetracked, and accidentally crashed your ship on an unknown planet. Crap. All your pons were in there too-so you'd have to go get some more if you were going to have any hope of buying a new ship. New, because it was clear that the old one didn't just need a couple patches. No, it was completely screwed. Hopefully this planet at least had a shop for that sort of thing.

Oh well. Sure you were broke and your ship was a flaming pile of debris, but you were alive, right? You didn't feel any pain, but just to be safe, checked yourself for any injuries.

Hold up-last time you checked, you weren't so translucent. And as you got up, you found yourself floating. That wasn't normal. Something was wrong. As your mind pieced together what happened, you turned towards the wreckage. Click. The last piece fell into place. A charred body lay in the middle of the wreckage. A body you recognized. The one you had lived in for the past (age) years of your life.

You were dead. Done-zo. Gone. And here, too, in the middle of a forest on a planet a solid few months away from home. You were sorta hoping you'd die back on your home planet. Get a proper burial, maybe a nice funeral. Say some awe-inspiring last words, die surrounded by family and/or friends. Rest in peace, and if an afterlife exists, hopefully head to whatever the best one was.

Instead, your corpse was buried under pieces of a ship. Your last words, although you didn't recall them verbatim, were a flurry of swears and curses so plentiful that if it were a movie scene, the movie it was in would probably go from a PG to an R in a solid 30 second period. Not exactly super motivational stuff. And unless your spaceship happened to crash into hell or some equivalent-this place definitely wasn't any sort of heaven-you were definitely not in the afterlife.

Well, you were dead. No point dwelling on it, you knew it would happen eventually. May as well see the place you're about to spend your not-life. So far you didn't see much. Some trees. A lot of trees, actually. It was dark, so you couldn't make out too much. Trees and darkness, trees and darkness. Some smoke from the fire over at the ship. The grass was purple-in fact, everything had a purple tinge to it. The trees, the grass, the sky. At least the sky one made sense. It seemed to be nighttime, and the stars twinkled in all their glory.

No matter the planet, you could count on the stars to be just as beautiful as ever. You drifted away from the ship. You guessed this forest was haunted now, although the atmosphere it gave off hinted that that may not be new.

The dead silence, no pun intended, that surrounded you until now was broken by a distant voice. "FOOOOOOOOOOL!"

You knew they said curiosity killed the cat, but hey, you were already dead. Why not?

You headed towards the mysterious voice.
