Stone Cold

I'm a stone cold, heartless king to everyone. I was the young king only living for glorifying by conquering everything. Powerful and strong but love wasn't a thing for me. It never was.

Until I met her.

So beautiful. So strong. She lacked nothing. She had something so great in her, that I, a king didn't. It was that she was aware, how to love. That's why I guess everything bloomed around her.

The first time I met her was when the village nearby became a war arena. People almost evacuated. But some were still there.

..

Flashback

"My king! A few are still there!" the subject yelled.

The king on his horse turned and his troop almost saved everyone.

"Help!" His ears heard a faint voice and he followed him.

What he saw was girl holding a little boy. She was hurt.

He looked at them and yelled. "Get on the horse now!!"

"Its King Neji..." The brunette said.

Neji, gave a hand, when she denied. He glared at her with his pale eyes.

She said slowly pointing inside the house. "Please...his mother is still trapped inside. She is all he has. Please save her."

Neji knew he had no time. He was the king and he was here. "Let her die. I'd pay for his needs later. We don't have much time. She probably died." He said as coldly he could.

The girl's eyes watered as the boy held her tighter. "Please he loves his mother. That's not something you can pay for. Please, oh great king, help her."

Neji knew it was worthless and a waste of time. Since he never knew how family actually felt like, he didn't care about others too.

He turned his horse back, " I don't care! I have to go. If you want to come just come!"

The brunette gritted her teeth. "So... I guess its true what they say about the king. He's just a puppet in the hands of the counsellors. He's nothing but a pawn actually made for killing."

Neji took out his sword and kept at the girl's neck, a drop of blood was seen making its way to his sword.

"What did you say?!! I'm the king. You have no right to say anything. I'll kill you right now."

"You are wrong." She yelled making him more angry. "You don't care about the people. A king don't let his people suffer. A king cares for his people. He never lets them die. He is someone who thinks of his people as his own family. "

She held the blade, but it kept piercing through the palm of her hand. Neji was furious. He just kept on moving his sword right through her, as she held it more tightly. She was strong.

Neji's eyes were changed to the ones they called the bakyugan. The one the royal family possessed. He hated them.

His grip loosened as he saw her eyes watering. But a smile crept on her face. To him, no one ever looked so beautiful.

"Do the eyes see the pain of others? I think they do... My Lord.. You can shed your pain through them, in order to see the pain of others. You have the right to kill me.. But does your heart think its right? I know you can love too. I did. I love you. Your strength enough impresses me. But what I want to see.. Is not anger, but love for the people."

Neji's eyes turned normal and he quickly ran inside the house. He had no hope his mother was alive. But when he saw the woman crying and she looked all burnt and almost dead, he felt a relief... Something he forgot, how relief felt like.

He picked her up and she managed to bow and her worried eyes looked at him.  He saw her body was broken. She would die any minute. The way she looked, he couldn't even imagine how much pain was she going through.

She finally managed to get her words out. "I...is... My.. Son.. a-.. alright?"

Those words were like new and shocking to him. She was dying. And still all she was thinking about was her son?

He nodded and she smiled. A smile he never saw. The smile had a glow in it.
He took her out and the girl and the boy smiled. The little boy hugged her lightly. "Mum..."

She held him and smiled. "I love you okay. Please take care. The king made me see my son. Thank him okay. I love you. I'm sorry." She said and fell on the ground.

The brunette started crying and held the boy and he cried for his mother.

Neji watched the seen silently. So much love and pain he saw in one scene.

He hurried them to safety. Picking the dead body too so it could be given an actual funeral.

He glanced at the girl. And something went down his cheeks. A drop of tear.

He never cried, but that day. He let it all. The pain he had been enduring all his life was no more heavy in his heart. He knew now, he himself was nothing different from the people.

Their heart beats the same as his.
He was once so grateful, that he met that girl.

..

He smiled through the mask he wore, so that no one would see him and broke into a house.

He went into the bedroom and saw the girl waiting for him. "I'm here, Tenten."

She smiled. "Even you're the king someday you're gonna get captures by your own soldiers. Coming here like a thief."

He sighed, " its my country and, my girl. You wait...... After a time, it'll be the palace I'd meet you."

"You mean as a prisoner?" She chuckled and hugged him.

He smiled, " Yes. I'll capture your heart. "

She cupped his face and smiled. "You idiot. You already did that a long time ago."

They both melted into a kiss. So much passionate. His heart felt so much happy. He learned to be happy with her. He wasn't a pawn anymore. But a real king, who did not chose war, but the love and protection of his people.

It was all thanks to brunette girl. The girl, strong willed and confident. Who completed his life. The one he fell in love with.

For the first time in his life, he was grateful that he was born and he was the king. He was able to meet her and love her. He wasn't stone cold anymore.

The stone finally melted inside his heart and gave a way to love and affection for everyone.

He knew, its true as they said,

"Love is the greatest power in the whole world."
