Chapter 8 (Welcome to Hell)

I woke up screaming.

"NO" I yelled.

I felt a warm pair of arms wrap around me and I felt my body start to relax.

"Shhh. Baby it's only a nightmare" the voice cooed in my ear.

I was shaking but I held the person back.

"Leo" I whispered.

"Yes honey" he answered back.

"Rachel she's in trouble" I said to him.

Leo pulled back so he could look into my eyes.

"Are you sure?" he asked.

I nodded thinking back to the dream I just had.

Rachel was having a heated argument with her parents.

"I don't want to marry him!" she screamed at them.

"You must!!! the merger is important for our family!" her mother yelled.

"I don't love him! I don't want to marry him or anyone!" she screamed.

"Marriage is not about love Rachel, Stop acting like a child!" her father yelled back.

"You are ignorant, that is exactly what marriage is about!" She yelled back at them.

"No Rachel Elizabeth it isn't!!! You nee to get your head out of your pretend world and realize you have to grow up!!!!" her mother yelled.

"What pretend world? Because I'm pretty sure the only one here living in one is you two!!!" Rachel screamed at her parents.

"You will marry William and that is final" Her father said plainly.

"What if he doesn't want to marry me either!!!" She asked.

"That isn't the case!!!! Now Rachel you will marry this boy or you will leave and never come back!!!" her father yelled.

Rachel froze and stared at her parents with tears streaming down her face.

"Then I'm never coming back" she said and ran out of the room slamming the door behind her.

"Leo, her parents disowned her because she can't marry William Conway" I whispered.

Leo held me tighter and I could hear his heart beat.

"It's alright, I'll contact Chiron and maybe he can help her out" Leo said.

I nodded and Leo took my face in his hands.

"Don't worry Elise, we'll find a way I promise" he whispered quietly so only I could hear.

I felt his warm breath on my face and his soft lips grazed mine.

"Try to go back to sleep" he said pulling away.

I sat their shocked at his actions.

He had kissed me.

He wasn't pretending to be someone else he really meant it.

"Honey you need to sleep" he said when I didn't lye back down.

I shook my head.

"Only if you sleep too" I said.

Leo looked at me and his soft brown eyes bore into me and I was afraid of his response.

"Alright then" he said wrapping me in his arms and laying back down.

His heat radiated off of him and I quickly fell asleep in his comforting embrace.
