'another cloudy day' woosung thought and sighed. he stared off out the window during English class, the class he'd surely ace. he was fluent. that why he took it. it was an "easy A" class. there was no reason for him to pay attention. so there he sat, watching the ominous clouds covering the sky. woosung was debating whether to do his typical routine. everyday at lunch he would eat or sit on the roof. no one ever bothered him. he liked it that way.

"Woosung!" the teacher yelled.

"huh? oh! yes ma'am?" he answered.

"can you answer the question?"

scrambling to figure out the question, he tripped on his words. "u-uhm the answer is uhh, dog. the "opposite" of a cat is a dog. however, miss, there isn't really a true "opposite" of any anim-"

the teacher interrupted, "that's enough woosung. thank you and maybe try to pay a little more attention please."

he nodded and continued to daze out the window. soon enough the lunch bell rang and woosung was out and running to the roof. nice he got to the stairway door he checked and made sure no one was watching. technically, the roof was an "off-limits" area but those words meant nothing to woosung. once the coast was clear he slowly opened the door and crept up the stairs. he always made sure to be quiet just in case someone was already on the roof.

carefully opening the door, he heard crying. this was new for woosung. he began searching for the origin of the sound. coming around a corner, he saw a girl. she was standing in front of the ledge. he couldn't see her face but he recognized the voice.

"y-you will never be enough. just do it already. n-nobody even w-wants you. you'll n-never be good enough. not for your parents. not for y-your friends. not for him. not for a-anyone."

hearing this made woosung hurt. he felt so bad for the girl. staying there he kept listening in.

she stood there, silent, for a minute before standing on the ledge and turning around. she and woosung locked eyes and she froze.

that's when woosung realized who it was. she had been his love for all of junior high and senior high. never in a million years would he think of this moment happening. he started to move closer to her.

"hyejin.... hyejin, please get down from there. please. i'm begging you." tears started forming in his eyes. "come down please." he was standing about two feet from her. he reached his hand out for her to grab. she noticed the tears in his eyes and grabbed his hand. as soon as they wrapped their hands around eachother, woosung pulled her down and into a tight hug. woosung wept on her shoulder, only causing hyejin to cry as well.

seeing her in a moment of such vulnerability, caused him to have this greater attraction towards her. they stood their for a moment before she pulled away.

woosung cupped her cheeks and brushed the tears off her cheeks.

"please talk to me. i'll give you my number. text me after school. please."

she didn't say anything. she just nodded and pulled out her phone. after typing in woosung's number, the bell rang and they both exited from the roof.

woosung couldn't focus. the moment kept replaying in his head. seeing the love of his life in that state made him shift his view. he hoped he could figure everything out soon.
