Happily Ever After (A Colby Brock Fanfiction)

~Chapter 6~

Mara's Point Of View 

We have arrived the hospital, gotten a room, and seen a doctor. However, it has been a while since the doctor took the tests and I can tell that Colby is getting pretty worried. "Colb, I'm fine. It doesn't even hurt that much anymore." I said putting my hand on his thigh for reassurance.

"But she has taken a really long time, she said she would be right back." "I know, Colb, but these things take time. Everything's going to be alright." He just smiled.

 A few minutes later, the doctor entered the room with the test results. "Hi guys, sorry that took so long, anyways I have some good news. It seems as if you have been on your feet too much, maybe over working yourself. You just need to take it easy for the next few days and you will be fine."

I breathed a sigh of relief, "That's great news. Thank you so much!" I said as I gave the doctor a hug. "You're welcome, honey!" That doctor was the same doctor that I saw last time after I was rescued from the old man, she was very sweet and she sent us on our way.

We wet on our way back home when Sam called and asked if we wanted to go hang out with everyone at his place. Of course we said yes and we arrived at his house in a couple of minutes.

I knocked on the door, "Hey!" Sam said as he answered the door and gave me a hug, "Hi Sam, how are you?" "I'm good, come on in!" He said as I entered the house. 

He wasn't lying when he said that everyone was here, literally all f our friends were there and it made me happy. I have always loved when we all get together, it is so much fun to make a load of memories together.

I sat down on the couch next to Kat and we started to talk, "Hey girl! How have you been?" "I'm good, you?" "Great! How's the baby?" "She's doing good." "Well, that's good! Have you thought of any names yet?" 

"A couple. I really have always loved the name Avery, but he really likes the name Olivia." I say gesturing over to Colby who is sitting at the counter talking to Sam and Kevin. "Well, if it means anything, I'm on team Avery." I smiled, "I'll keep that in mind." I giggled.

Kat and I talked for a while after that and a little while later, Tara came over and sat by us. "Hey ladies!" "Hey! How have you been? I feel like I haven't seen you in forever!" "I'm doing fine, how are you and the baby?" "We're good." I smiled. 

"You know what? We should have a girl's night sometime. Me, you, Kat, and Devyn. We could paint, our nails, give each other makeovers, gossip. It would be so much fun!" Tara suggested. 

I don't know why, but it was just so funny to me how excited she got over that. "Sure. That sounds like fun. I've never really had a sleepover before." I explained to them. "Never?" They asked and both looked at me in shock.

"Nope. Never." I shook my head. "Okay, this is officially going to be the best sleepover in the history of every sleepover ever." Kat said with a devilish grin on her face, which made me let out a slight grin.

We stayed at Sam's house for a couple of hours and then we went back home. When we got home, Colby and I started talking, "Mara, I don't want you to feel like you have to always be working. You really don't need to overwork yourself." 

"Yeah, but I just want to make sure that I can support the baby." "Hey, you don't need to worry about that. I can help you." "No, no, I don't want you to feel like you have to do this." 

"Mara, we have been over this. I want to do this and if I didn't want to be doing something, I wouldn't. It's okay to take help when someone offers it, you know?" "Yeah, I'm sorry. I just feel so bad when people do things for me." 

"Well, you don't need to, okay? At least not with me." "Thanks, Colby." I smiled.  "You're welcome. Do you want to watch that movie that we never got to watch?" "Sure." I nodded. "Okay, I'll make the popcorn this time." Colby teased. "Yeah, that's probably a good idea." I laughed.

"So, which movie do you want to watch?" I asked Colby as I scrolled through Netflix. "I don't know, do you just want to finish watching Stranger Things?" "Sure." I said as I clicked on the episode we were on.

The two of us spent the rest of the night talking and watching Stranger Things. I don't know when I fell asleep, but all I know is that I wouldn't want to end the night any other way.

     Thanks for reading! I'm going on vacation later this week, so this might be the last chapter until I get back, but I'll try to write another one before I leave. 🤞🏼 (But no promises! 😂)

     Do you think this story has too many time jumps? I wanted this story to get a lot across but I didn't want to have like 100 chapters! (Don't hate me😂)
