Part 7 (The missing earring)

As Tanya walked up to the principal's office, she could hear the chattering from inside

"Lawd Jezas, a see him see mi eno! So dis dutty man rape mi, now him waa get mi fired?!" She thought to herself as she slowly knocked three times at the door, upon the third knock she heard "Come in".

She opened the door to a creaking sound from the rusty hinges and there he was, Buckley at one end of the table and his wife Gina sitting beside him. She walked in as her heart raced in fear that he might attack her, "G.. Good morning" She stuttered.

"Come in, come in and close the door behind you" said the principal.

Tanya looked at the wife, she looked distraught as she shaked her head in disbelief.

"Tek a seat man" the principal continued. Tanya took a seat as she glanced at Buckley who was not smiling and his arms crossed.

"Last night, there was a break in at Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds home and their daughter was attacked by a thief, who knocked her out. She is doing well however she is very shaken, so she won't be in for a few days because she will be seeing a psychologist" Said the principal.

"They haven't received any information on who the thief was however it is a female..." he continued

Buckley interrupted "Yeah, after she knock out mi daughter, mi run har dung but she get weh, is a plan ting eno cause har car did park up outside. But mi must know a who cause har finger nail bruck off and we find har earring inna mi house!"

Tanya quickly folded her fingers to hide her nails, luckily she had in another pair of earrings.

"I am so sorry this happened to your family and I hope your daughter will be okay soon" Tanya said.

They spoke for a few minutes, it felt like an eternity for Tanya as she couldn't wait for the meeting to be over. As the meeting concluded, she got up to leave, bid them farewell and head to her class. It was finally over.

While in class, her phone rang, it was Oneil he was outside with breakfast for her. Luckily, the children weren't in class as yet, she took up her bag and ran out the door and bumped into Buckley, her hand bag fell to the floor and her stuff were all over the ground.

"Mr. Reynolds what are you still doing here?!" She asked

"A mi wife mi a wait pon, she gone use the bathroom how long. Why women affi tek so long?" He asked as he helped her pick up her stuff.

She watched him from the corners of her eyes while they both took up her items.

"What happened to your fingernail" he asked

Tanya's eyes opened wide, she quickly told him that her finger got caught in the door without missing a beat. He handed over her stuff and she thanked him and left to meet Oneil in the parking lot.

Buckley shaked his head "Women" he said to himself as he watched her leave. He kept thinking to himself "I know that lady, but from where?" As he walked off to get his wife at the bathroom, he stepped on something, it made a crunch sound beneath his foot. He bent over to see what it was as it was shining, he thought it was money that fell from Tanya's hand bag. It was Tanya's other earring.
