to be honest, i never knew i could be so stupid. i blindly agreed to something that would tear me apart and now i have my regrets. however, i wouldn't be able to have lived with myself if i was the reason why my best friend was upset because i stopped him from dating someone he clearly liked better than me. but it is what it is, and it was all in the past. i couldn't hold myself back and stay stuck on someone who had moved on, which is why this happened.

after mackenzie agreed to sophia's request and told me that i should go on the date, i was heartbroken but it made me also realise that she doesn't feel the same way. last night after mine and mackenzie's talk, i didn't want to sit around crying and depressed so i finished off two verses of a song that i was stuck on for a while since i never knew what to write about it.
I sat on my bed as i strummed my guitar and reversed the first newly written verse...

before i could start the chorus, i heard my door softly creek open and a familiar blonde head came through the door. "what are you doing here lauren?" i puffed as i set my guitar down on the floor next to me.
"you were singing pretty loudly so it was hard to ignore what you were saying. can i come in?" her voice was soft and her face had a soft smile. her cheeks were flushed a rosy pink shade and her hair was left flowing over her skinny shoulders.

the boy nodded as he patted on the bed next to me, indicating her to come and sit. the blonde swiftly made her way through the mess that was in johnny's bedroom and sat on the crinkled sheets of his doona cover. "so," she twined the ends of hair around her fingertips. "are you gonna tell me who that songs about or do i have to force it out of you?" a small laugh escaped her mouth.
"i-its about no one lauren" he stuttered, trying as hard as he could not to make it seem like he was lying. "do you think i'm dumb or something?" she scoffed at him. the truth was, lauren knew who the song was about because she sat by johnny's window the night of their conversation.
"i never said that!" he threw his arms up in defence. lauren stood up from her brothers bed and made firm eye contact with him. "now you better listen closely because i'm only gonna say this once, there's something more going on between you two, i can see it in your eyes and i can see it in mackenzies eyes. so if you ever want a chance, i suggest you man up" the blonde girl tapped her brothers shoulder before confidently strutting out of her brothers room.
'someone had to do it' she thought to herself as she made her way down the hallway of her house with a smug look on her face.
