Familiar Face

Moving

     It was a regular Friday when I was hanging out with my best friend Shawn, we were throwing rocks into the river when I got a call from my mom. I answered it saying
"Hey mom what's up?"
"You need to come home right now" she sounded like she was in a hurry so I got scared and told Shawn
"Uh.. sorry bro I have to go home right now I will text you later."
"Ok bye!" I heard him yell at me while I was running home.
      When I made it home I saw a moving truck and a bunch of boxes out on the front lawn.
"Wait.. Are we moving!?!!" I asked my mom
"Yes we are moving" my mom said while carrying a box to the moving truck.
"Why didn't you tell me!" I said getting mad, " I didn't get to say goodbye to my friends!"
"I'm sorry honey but we just can't afford this place so I'm moving us to Spokane we can't afford to live in Washington D.C anymore it's too expensive" my mom said while trying to calm me down,
"That's so far I won't be able to see my friends ever again!" Now I was yelling and neighbors were starting to come outside and look over towards me. I saw that and just went inside up to my room and plopped onto my bed noticing that there was only a mattress, no sheets or anything. My mom went through all my stuff and boxed most of it up.
     I ended up texting Shawn and Ashley in our group chat and telling them that I was moving and asking if they could come over because I would leave in 2 hours and I wanted to spend the last 2 hours with them
Shawn- Sorry bro I can't come over right now my mom wants me to babysit Leah
Ashley- I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE MOVING WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME!!😭
Phillip- I just found out but can you come over Ash
Ashley- no I can't and now I'm going to be sad
Phillip- it's ok but I'm moving to a place named Spokane so we may never see each other again😭
Ashley- That's so far away I just looked it up😭😫
Phillip- I know but anyway I have to go love you guys (no homo) also I will text you guys and send pictures!!
Ashley- Love you too!!! (FULL HOMO) also don't know why I'm texting full homo when I'm a girl and you're a guy but let's just do that😂🤣
Shawn- bye bro
After I got off my phone my mom bursted into my room and said
"I finished early so let's go"
"Fine" I said while dragging my feet on the floor while walking to the moving truck.
     When I was in the moving truck watching the only place I knew go away I almost cried. My mom saw me like this so she took me to McDonalds
"What do you want from here?" She asked me with a comforting voice
"I want some chicken nuggets and 2 cheeseburgers with Medium fries and also I want a McFlurry M&M style" I said all that in a baby voice. My mom got all of that for me because she felt bad about telling me that we were moving the day of. For the rest of the ride when I wasn't eating I was sleeping and my mom drove all night and all day she didn't look tired when I would wake up for a bit. We would take about 5 minute stops whenever we saw a gas station we wanted to go to. My mom was the best mom ever because whenever I wanted to get some sunflower seeds or some jerky she would get it for me.
     When we made it to Spokane I took a picture of the place it wasn't that nice but it was where I would spend my years of high school so I better get used to the place.
"So where is our new house?" I asked my mom and she said
"It should be 5 minutes away!"
Ok this was weird because I have never moved somewhere but I had an idea
"I CALL DIBS ON FIRST ROOM!!!" I yelled this in the truck and my mom just laughed
"Ok ok you can pick your room first"
     When we got to our new house I took a picture then immediately took the keys to the house from my mom and ran inside. All I could hear was my mom laughing, the house was huge but that was only because it was completely empty but I ran upstairs and looked for the best room of the house and saw it. My new room had a window with a seating area, I had a walk-in closet and even my very own bathroom. This was perfect so I claimed this room by putting some black tape on the door. I went back outside and grabbed my boxes and put them in my room, already I started setting my room up and my mom saw this
"Do you like your room?"
"Yes I'm glad I called dibs" I said while laughing
My mom also laughed while she headed to her new room, I didn't bother looking because I was too excited with my new room. My room just needed a bed frame to put my mattress on, my phone vibrated in my pocket as I was putting my mattress in my room. I got a friend request on Snapchat from a girl who I didn't know, I accepted it anyway because it was from quick add so she must live around here. The girls username was Elizabeth754😂 I honestly didn't know why she put a laughing emoji but I wasn't about to ask her why. I put my phone down and went down to our empty kitchen to tell my mom that we should order pizza. My mom thought that was a great idea and so she ordered us a pepperoni pizza and I ran to the store which wasn't far and got us some ranch. While I was at the store I saw a cute girl
