As the moonlight gently kissed her face, she swept a loose piece of hair behind her ear. Sleeping was difficult on this bumpy wagon ride. Scrambling through her bag, she pulls out a journal and began to write.
Entry 01.
This is my first entry in this journal. My name is (Y/n), 12 years old. Currently, I am on a wagon ride to become a cadet of the 104th Training Corps. I just wanna get away from my shitty life and either join the Military Police or the Garrison. I'm not on a suicide mission, I just don't want to be looked down upon any longer.
I expect this experience to be unpleasant, but not horrific and scarring. I know that there will be hardships, maybe some losses, but I've been trying to reassure myself that nothing will get in my way of staying the hell away from titans. Their very existence just pisses me off, and I'd like to be as far away from them as possible. They disgust me down to the core, their naked enlarged bodies and their shit eating grins. Gross, just gross.
I have to keep remembering though, I'm not here to make friends. I'm not here to "make memories" as some would say. I'm here to work, nothing more nothing less. If I don't keep my goals in check, surely I will fail and will become titan fodder. Again, gross.
Hopefully by doing this, I can finally make Papa proud, and Mama won't worry too much anymore. She's always worried I'll be in some sort of trouble, but if I can get through these five years in training it'll all be worth it.
Perhaps I should attempt to get some sleep before dawn breaks. Until the next entry dear Journal. Until next time.
And as she concluded her writing, she closed the journal, leaving her writing utensil tucked within the wired spiral of her notebook. Storing it in her bag once more, she twisted and turned until she drifted off to sleep.

Lined up, each cadet stood straight. Some shook in their stance, some stoically faced forward in determination. (Y/n), without turning her head, watched as the commander approached the cadets in front of her and brutally broke them down. She was frightened, of course, but she was aware that such verbal abuse was to be expected. It's the military, and soft-hearted individuals wouldn't last long here. Commander Shadis is a strong individual, as he was formerly the commander of the Survey Corps. Not much is known to (Y/n) of his person, but she was nonetheless intimidated by him.
Shadis brought his attention to a boy with considerably lengthy hair, clearly terrifying the poor boy. And the yelling then began, starting with the commander.
"Hey, you!"
"Sir!" The blonde yelped, quick to salute with a shake.
"Who the hell are you?!"
"Armin Arlelt, from Shiganshina District!"
'Shiganshina, hm?' (Y/n) thought, 'That's where Wall Maria collapsed, and where the Colossal Titan made its appearance. Interesting.'"I see! That's a ridiculous name! Did your parents give it to you?!"
"My grandfather did, Sir!"
"Arlelt! Why are you here?!"
"To help humanity achieve victory!"
"That's wonderful to hear!" he scoffed, "We can feed you to the Titans! Third row, about face!" Shadis grabbed the poor blonde by the head and forcibly turned him. The commander carried on, brutalizing many of the cadets, but sparing some. (Y/n) was unfortunate, as he eventually stood before her.
"Name, fool! Who the hell are you?!" Shadis shouted, inches away from her face.
"(F/n) (L/n), Sir! From Ovrud District, Sir!" she exclaimed with a salute. A few gasps from the cadets erupted, perhaps shocked that someone from Wall Sina would want to join the military.
"And what is a spoiled, little, rich maggot doing here?!"
"I come from no wealthy background, Sir! My family is quite poor, and I simply want to give them a better life, Sir!"
She was shaking, but kept her stance firm. In her mind, she was screaming, but she refused to show her fear. Feeling a tingly sensation, she knew if this was not over quick, she would embarrassingly piss her pants in fear.
"Doubt a fragile little doll like you will make it anywhere in this damn world!" he screamed right in her face, "You hear that fool?! You will die by the hands of me if not the Titans! Tenth row, about face!"
She quickly pivoted her body, and relaxed her tensed nerves. Relieved she would no longer be bothered by the verbal battering of the commander, for now, she waited patiently for the first day to be over.
Author's Note: First chapter! I know there's no romance but this is just the beginning. I'll do my best to update once a week at least.
