A.N.- Incase anyone didn't see it in the summary, I actually rewinded and am starting at Chapter 2 right when school ended.
As I was walking out of school that day, I saw Adrien and Lila standing on the steps next to each other. I felt a pang of something in my heart. What was it? Anger? Slightly, but no. Sadness? Slightly, but no. Jealousy? That was it. I was jealous. I tried to look away to keep from getting angry, but out of the corner of my eye, I saw Lila lean in and kiss Adrien. KISS ADRIEN?!
Tears stung the corners of my eyes as I spun to try and find Alya to confide my emotions to. There was no way I could ever get with Adrien! How could he see past Lila's lies to me? He couldn't.
I finally found her, but I frowned when I did. She was interviewing Chloé. I sighed. Everyone had easily found out that Chloè was Queen Bee, because, well, let's just say it was too good of an opportunity to brag that she couldn't pass up. I shook my head. Chloé was no where near responsible enough to be a heroine.
"Hey Alya, can I talk to you about something?" I said meekly, still upset from Adrien and Lila's kiss.
Instead of turning around to face me and talk to me like she always does, she just, ignored me. I was confused. Why would she do that? Wasn't I her friend?
"Go away Marinette. Can't you see? Alya is too busy interviewing the incredible me. What's wrong? Are you jealous you're such a nobody compared to me?" Chloè teased me with a smirk.
I turned to Alya. She would stop Chloé, right? But Alya echoed Chloé with a "Go away Marinette! Can't you see I'm busy right now?"
I was shocked. How could she do this to me? I was her best friend! Why did she agree with Chloè's incredibly rude remarks? I took a few steps back, tears threatening to take hold again. I tried to turn to someone else for support, but everyone was completely oblivious to me and acted as if I didn't exist.
Tears spilling out of my eyes, I spun and ran away from the school as fast as I could. I pounded my legs into the ground, driving faster and faster. Emotions swirled around me, causing me to sharply turn left and right, weaving down streets and alleys.
I ran as long as I could, until my legs finally collapsed out from under me and I slumped against an alley wall. I pulled my knees into my chest, then bent over and cried into the fabric of my jeans. Tikki and Cynthia flew out of my bag, gently landing on my shoulders.
"There, there, Marinette. Everything will be okay," Tikki whispered soothingly to me as she wiped a tear off of my cheek. I stopped crying as hard and looked up, staring into her adorable eyes. Red marks streamed down my face from my tears, and I kept sniffling. I opened my hand, allowing Tikki to land on my palm, then pulled her close to me to resemble a mini hug.
Cynthia patted my cheek as she said, "It's okay, Marinette. Things will get better! Think positively!" I looked at Cynthia, giving her a nod and a weak smile. I couldn't let Hawkmoth send an akuma to akumatize me. I had to be strong. I strengthened my smile at the silver cat kwami, then stood up and brushed the wrinkles out of my clothes.
"I don't know what I would do without you two. You're the best and most loyal friends I could ever wish for," I said. I opened my bag for them to fly into, and then I turned and walked home, trying to forget my loneliness and sadness.Hello everyone! So I did decide to follow through, and I adopted UniversalOtaku's story "Marionette's Secret's" (Although I edited the spelling in the title. I already have the next couple of chapters written, so I will probably post them tomorrow. What do y'all think about it so far? Any ideas?
