[The unheard point-of-view of Jung Ho Seok]

[2029]

It's been indeed years since he came back and fate played him well when he met you at the coffee shop. He doesn't know how he would approach you, he can only think about smiling. His heart fluttered when you smiled back.

"Damn." he said to himself, you still have that same effect towards him after all this years.

He enjoyed the silence that was enveloping you both, not until you spoke and break it. He missed your voice for years, he's been yearning to hear it. You started talking to him casually just like before, too casual for his liking but he can never blame you.

His heart stopped when you talked about preparing for a wedding, but his heart was shattered when he saw a ring glistening on your ring finger, "it was too late for me huh." he said to himself.

Hoseok admired every part of your face while you stared at the window, how the sky seems to gloom. He didn't mind when you caught him staring at you, you both stared at each other in awe as he realized how much he missed you by his side. How after all this years you are still that beautiful person he admired and have come to love, still that same comforting and warm presence he still longed to have but can't anymore.

He can't have you anymore.

He held your hand because this might be the last time he can hold you and be near you, at first he was afraid you'd take away your hand but you never did. You let him hold you longingly as he stared at the ring once again. Reminding him this is the end for the both of you, a final closure after 10 years.

"I hope you're happy and I'm sorry." Hoseok muttered, it took him all of his strength for those words to come out, to let his voice be heard.

He can't help the aching in his chest it's been years but it still hurts, knowing how both of you ended up in your separate ways. You saw right through him and the words that left your mouth ended him way too harsh.

"I am happy..." your answer burned into his heart a dull ache imprinted on Hoseok as he felt you held his cheeks to make him look at you. "Hoseok-ah it's been 10 years, I already forgave you. Please it's time for you to be happy too."

Right there and then Hoseok's heart completely stopped as his facade fell as tears escaped from his eyes, he can never move on from the love that was supposed to be. From the love he wasted away, he keeps on beating himself up for choosing his career over you, for thinking you won't get tired of waiting, for not even contacting you or even explain why he was out of reach.

He silently cried while holding your hand, thankful enough you weren't letting go of it.

His heart aches.

You bid farewell leaving him behind, you smiled one last time at him. He doesn't want to let you go again but he was reminded that you aren't teenagers anymore but before you left he asked you one last time.

"Is it Jimin?"

You smiled fondly that same smile you used to smile when it was his name being mentioned, but right now it wasn't his name but someone else.

"Yes."

Hoseok heaved a deep sigh as he watched you walk away from him again and from his life. Fate pretty much hated him for letting him meet you again accidentally.

"Hobi-ah I'm sorry I'm late the rain suddenly poured and I forgot my umbrella."

Hoseok smiled at the girl who was again late for their meeting, but he looked fondly at her as she tries to dry her hair using her handkerchief. Maybe just maybe, you were right that he does deserve to be happy too.
