I guess this is what happens when you read too many werewolf stories.
I dreamt of a werewolf, but it seems very cliche to me. So I may or may not write it. But it's a love story, but I think it can also be very violent. It's a human female/werewolf male story. Werewolves live in packs, there are rogues, and there are Lycan Rogues - you really don't want to mess with them. They are few and far beween and they are powerful - powerful enough to decimate an entire pack if they wish. Because their power supercedes an Alpha's power, they are either destined for two fates - instant death if they are recognized as a Lycan, or they managed to escape death, they roam the earth alone. The main werewolf character, who I'll call "Hyde", is a Lycan Rogue - one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful one out there. He escaped certain death and joined a group of other Lycan Rogues who wanted revenge against the proper wolves for being so cruel. For years, he was the cruelest one of them all, killing werewolf packs due to his hatred over his own pack rejecting him.
Hyde is truly a man distanced from his emotions. He doesn't believe in mates, he's promiscuous, and it doesn't take a lot for him to kill someone. But that all changes once night, when he catches a lost human girl in their territory. They kill anyone who does - but the girl is different. She's running away from a broken home life, and she figured the forest was the only place her parents wouldn't find her. The moment Hyde sees the girl, he recognizes her as his mate - and everything changes. It's a more powerful feeling as despite the girl being afraid of her father, she isn't afraid of the stranger with the golden eyes. After helping the girl get to her grandmother's house (he knows it's not a good idea to keep her with him), he begins to question everything, since there is that one special person in the world who seems to accept him for who he is.
The Chandra Sect - the hunter pack of wolves and the sworn enemies of Lycan Rogues, get the upper hand against the Hyde's pack, killing most members save for Hyde and Thorne, and even more powerful Lycan Rogue. Hyde realizes he has to flee, even though that means being parted from his mate. Before he flees, he senses the little girl in trouble, and rescues her from murderous intent of her father, killing him before her very eyes. Even though she's in shock, she urges him to go so the bad men won't get him. He flees, though it's painful for him to be away from his mate.
------
The story then jumps fifteen years. The little girl is now a beautiful woman, Amerie, who still lives with her grandmother and aspires to be a writer. She's pursued by many men, include Thom, her classmate who has wanted her for years. But her heart has always belonged to that mysterious man in the forest she met as a child, who treated her kindly, who she loves very much. However, she's given up hope of ever finding him, and resolves to go through life on her own.
Hyde survived the massacre, and has been living on his own with his three "children" - Emma, Sebastien, and Kael. Since he fled from Amerie fifteen years before, he's resolved to never kill needlessly ever again, and his children are three lone Lycan Rogues that were rescued from certain death. With regular werewolves in great number and Lycan Rogues killed on sight, Hyde simply wants to provide the love and care he was denied to his children. He still thinks of his sweet Amerie everyday, but doesn't pursue him, due to his guilt over his past and his concern for his safety. However, being apart from her pains him every day, and he wishes he could see her again, if only for a little while.
Amerie meets Sebastien, Emma, and Kael before she meets Hyde. They meet each other in the forest they meet many years before, and Amerie embraces him instantly. Thought she's grown older, he's happy to see Amerie again and is in awe of the beautiful woman she has become. But still fearing for her safety, he runs away, and she is unable to give chase.
However now that they've met again, the bond is stronger. He silently watches her from afar, and Amerie tries to look for him but is unsuccessful. One night, however, he calls out to her, and she willingly answers. Hyde tells her how much he's missed her, but he doesn't want her to be hurt by being around him. Amerie tells him of her love for him, even as a child. Unable to resist the pull, the two passionately make love in the forest, and Hyde can't help but mark her.
Amerie wakes up the next morning in her bedroom (she fainted after her marking). She believes it's a dream but later on in the day discovers the mark. Hyde visits her later and regrets marking her. He believes he's put her in even more danger now, but he couldn't help it - he's lived many years without her, and it's pained him. It's pained her, too. She doesn't understand why she's so drawn to him, but she loves him, and she doesn't want to lose him again. He doesn't want to lose her, either. They reunite, and he vows to protect her from anything and everything that comes their way.
And me being a writer, I'd have a lot of things LOL
