Chapter 1

Ridge high was just like every other high school in the world. You were put into a category and whatever category you were in determined how your high school experience would be. My high school experience was a pretty good one. That was until Liam came.

It was a foggy 8:00 morning. like usual in Washington state. The bell rang to tell all students to get to home room. I was always late to class because of lack of sleep. I slammed my locker door and carried all of my shit to class. I walked past the students and put my books on top of my desk and sat down. Usually teachers will tell you your late and demand you to go up to the office. But Mrs barren didn't bother to do that anymore because I was late every day.

After the announcements ended I pulled out all of my homework that was due today and began to work on it. As I was working on problem number 4 in algebra 2, a new kid walked in. He was tall and had brown hair. He had a grey sweatshirt on with dark jeans and black converse.

"Um I'm Liam and I think I'm in this home room" he says. Mrs barren looks up and cracks a smile. "Oh yes I know, hi Liam you sit in the back right behind Bethany." The teacher explains. Liam looks around the room to find me, so I put my hand up. "I'm Bethany" I say. He nods and walks towards his assigned seat.

I go back to work on my unfinished homework but I can't concentrate. I read the problem (what's the square root of 187) over and over. But my mind keeps thinking About the new kid sitting behind me.

10 minutes go by and we haven't spoken to one another yet. That's kind of weird. I finally decide to turn around to look at this Liam kid again. When I turn around my eyes meet his immediately. Why is he staring at me? Was he staring at me this whole time?We sit there staring at each other in silence. The awkward moment disappears when he speaks. "Hi" he says. "Hi" I say back. "You know I thought this school was gonna be filled with unattractive girls, but I just realized how wrong that statement was" he tells me. I feel my face redden immediately. "R-R-R-I-I-N-N-G-G" the bell is loud and interrupts the lovely conversation I just had with this lovely boy.

(I know that this chapter is short, but that just because i don't want to give you too much information on the book. basically this book is about Bethany who meets liam at school. he is very nice to her and alluring but then when they get in a relationship things change. also if you were wondering who the characters are i have them listed below)
