CHAPTER THREE

VIOLA scowled when she awoke the next morning and heard rain pouring down from behind the curtains. As she got to her feet and stretched her long legs she pulled back the curtains to inspect the weather. The sky was dyed a leaded grey colour and the sun wasn't in sight as the air was filled with a scattering of fog.

Terrible weather for Quidditch.

She ran a hand through her hair and sighed. Today was going to be an ordeal that was for sure. The Slytherins were playing Gryffindor and the tensions between the teams and houses in general was enough to make this game tough. But what was worse is that it was Viola's first Quidditch game ever.

After failing to make the team in her third year, Viola had put every ounce of effort into getting better at Quidditch and she was determined for them to win. She had spent all summer practicing with Regulus. She didn't care what it took. Being keeper made it feel as if the team relied on her just as heavily as they did on the seeker. It was vital that Viola could handle it.

She pulled on her dark green robes as the nerves mounted in her stomach. She reminded herself that Sirius was going to be on the pitch along with James. Just brilliant.

"Are you ready Viola? It's your big game today," smiled Regulus as he spotted Viola mooching down to the common room about five minutes later.

"I feel like I look as green as my robes," Viola pulled a face. "I'm nervous and I'm never nervous about anything," she told him. Regulus gave her a sympathetic look and swung an arm around her shoulder as he led the way down to breakfast.

"I was the same in my first Quidditch match don't worry. You'll be wonderful, I know it," he reassured her as they walked towards the enters nice of the great hall.

"What you need is some bacon and eggs to fuel yourself," Regulus told her, eagerly clapping his hands together at the thought of the piping hot plates of food that he could practically smell already.

"I suppose you're right," nodded Viola begrudgingly as they entered the great hall. Viola felt a few eyes turn towards her. Of course Regulus had been seeker for quite a while but Viola- she was the one of the new editions to the team.

At the Gryffindor table Sirius Black dropped his spoon with a loud clatter into his bowl of cereal.

"You're kidding me," he shook his head as he followed everyone's eyes to see Viola Lettiere dressed in her forest green Slytherin robes, smiling lightly as Regulus muttered something to her.

"What's wrong Pads?" Asked James, taking care to flatten his own scarlet Quidditch robes as he saw Lily Evans sitting a few seats away with Alice Fortescue and Marlene McKinnon.

"That bloody girl! She's everywhere," Sirius huffed angrily as he looked away from the Slytherins as if the sight of all the green revolted him.

"What's wrong with Viola? Seriously Sirius, she's not that bad," Remus rolled his eyes as Sirius cracked his knuckles dramatically.

"Stop being such a princess," agreed Peter. Sirius shot Peter a filthy look.

"You'd be acting like this too if she'd broken your nose!" He growled as he took a long gulp of pumpkin juice. "Wish it was firewhiskey," he muttered under his breath. Peter looked down at the table, hiding his hurt.
