"That was amazing." I say. Shirley made eggplant parmigiana. It is so good.
"Thank you sweety." She says
"I want to take you to the back yard to see the garden." Reece says. We walk out the back door and a light turns on.
"Y'all's flowers are beautiful." I say.
"Mom loves to plant. She gets up every morning to water them." He says.
Suddenly it starts pouring rain and we get soaked. Reece starts wiping my face to get the rain off of my face but he continues wiping.
"Syana...... Why do you have bruises on your face?" Reece says lowly.
"Oh, um, mom and I went to the mall and I got in-between two girls fist fighting." I say.
"Do you really think I believe that?" He questions. I let my head fall down so I can't see him staring at me.
"Who did this to you Syana? Don't lie to me." He says coldly.
"Just let it go Reece!" I yell. Now we are back to square one. We are back to me keeping things from him.
We stay quiet for a few minutes then he starts talking again. "Let's get inside. I'll get a pair of my mom's pants for you and I can give you one of my shirts." He says.
Reece walks me to his room then he walks out. His room looks just about like the one at his mother's house.
Reece walks back in and gives me a pair of pants then he grabs one of his shirts.
"The bathroom is right here." He says taking me to the corner of his room.
I go in and take off my soaking wet clothes. I fold it up and set it down. I put the clothes on that Reece gave me me then I start trying to fix my make-up.
"Syana. Are you alright? Can I come in?" He asks.
"Yeah." I say. He opens the door and just stands there.
"I am trying to fix my make-up." I say.
"Here, let me help." He says. He walks in and opens a cabinet drawer and grabs a rag. Then he walks over to the sink and wets the rag.
He turns to me and starts to start wiping at my face, but I turned my head.
"I need it to be fixed, not taken off." I say. He grabs my face and gently turns it back to him. He starts wiping at my face, taking my make-up off.
"You are too beautiful to wear make-up. Also, don't try to hide bruises from me. I don't know who did this to you. I need to know." He whispers.
I stay quiet and he just sighs. He finishes taking my make-up off then he stares at my face.
"Syana, why can't I know?" He asks.
"It won't change anything." I answer. He goes to open his mouth to say something else but he gets cut off by my phone. I grab my phone and see it's mom calling.
"Hey." I say.
"It's getting late you need to be getting home." She says.
"I'll be on my way." I say. We hang up then Reece and I say bye to his parents and we head to my house.
"I love you Syana." Reece says before I step out if his truck. "If you need me, I'm a call away."
"I love you." I tell him.
I walk inside and go to the kitchen to get a bottle of water. Mom is standing at the window looking out if it.
"Why are you in different clothes than you left in?" She questions, turning to me.
