I wake up. I look out the window and see the sun. It's dawn. I look around me. Evan is in a tight ball on his bed and Crystal is perfectly flat on her back next to him.
"How does she do that?" I think, considering I always wake up in a different position then when I lay down.
I climb down the ladder to my bed, my bed is a bunk bed I share with Crystal and Evan, and face them.
"Evan." I whisper while tapping his shoulder lightly.
Instead, Crystal is up like a zombie from it's coffin. She even manages to make no noise in the process. I don't question it this time.
"Like this," she walks to my side of the bed both effortlessly and silently, "Evan. It is time to wake up."
Evan jumps up in a panic and makes a sound similar to both a scream and a grunt.
"C-crystal! Moon! It's, uh, too early! Maybe you should let me sleep longer?"
"No." says Crystal.
"Don't be so harsh on him." I say, "None of us have done this before, just because you're older doesn't mean you tell him what to do. I think we're all nervous so extra sleep can't go wrong."
"W-what Moon said." says Evan.
Crystal is silent. She opens her mouth to speak but doesn't say anything. Instead, she just closes it and goes to our single chair with her book on it. She picks up the book, and gracefully flops on the chair to read it.
"Well that worked out, get some sleep Ev." I whisper.
He nods and lays back down. After, I get back up on my bed I hear him curling back up in a ball before beginning to hear a faint snore. He sounds so comfortable. Part of me feels bad for him. He clearly isn't ready for this. He has to leave home too. It must be difficult.
Then I realize the situation. We were chosen. Prismal rose chose us for a reason. I just hope it's a good one.
