"Gwen, what is it?" I ask, pacing around in my room.
"I just wanted to ask how you're doing, with your elements and all," she replies, chuckling nervously.
I sigh, flopping on my bed. "Destroying things like usual. Seriously, why are you calling me?"
"I..." she says, then pauses for a moment. "I wanted to ask how Luke was doing."
"Well, status update: he hates me," I tell her.
"Because of me?" she asks, with a tinge of sadness.
"Because of my refusal to give him your number," I correct her, pulling the loose thread of my sweater.
"Y'know, it wasn't your fault," she says. "And, he called me earlier."

I stare at my phone, which has Gwen's number in it. I couldn't believe Trinity kept her number from me all this while.
Traitor.
Or, was she?
I pick up my phone and dial Gwen's number. Again.
"Gwen," I say, tears starting to well up in my eyes.
"Oh, hey Luke," she pauses, before adding, "again."
"I'm sorry I hung up on you just now," I apologize, twirling my pen between my fingers.
"Um, it's okay, Luke," she says and there's a sharp intake of air. "There's a reason why I left you without any warning, Luke. Why don't you get it?"
"Get what?" I ask, trembling so hard I dropped the pen.
"I hate you."
And the tears began to flow freely down my cheeks.

The days flew by, and I was stuck. Stuck in a place where barely anyone could reach me. I was lost in the elements, in the numbers, in the possibility.
I've lost hope in everyone, even Luke. I guess someone who has three elements can't forgive and forget. He sits next to me still, but his hair is a mess, his skin paler than before, dark circles around his eyes and his refusal to interact with anyone at all.
The Earth in him has started to set in. He is feeling the pain. Since Water is in him, he is feeling that sadness and that need for freedom.
Let her go, Luke. She's the reason as to why you're feeling this way.
But he can't.
And he won't.
