My Perfect Guy

Chap 1

Ericka's POV

I woke up to my seven o'clock alarm and looked at my phone. "I'm ready," I said. With it being Saturday morning, I quickly crawled out of bed and my phone rang. "Already?" I picked up. "Hello?"

"Hey girl," Alexis excitedly stated. "I'm about an hour away with Britt."

"Oh, hey girl," I said. "Sorry, it was a long night."

"Did I wake you?" asked Alexis.

"No, my alarm did," I said. "I'm getting ready now." I got up and grabbed my clothes. "I hope you're hungry. My mom is cooking breakfast and we got the guest room set up for you."

"Okay, thank you again for letting us stay with you for the night," said Alexis.

"No problem," I said. "See you in a bit, hun." I hung up. "Let's get ready." I showered, got dressed, and went down to the kitchen. "Hi Mom."

"Hey sweetheart," said Mom as I set the table. "I hope your friends are hungry."

"I'm sure they are," I said. "They're about an hour out."

"Well, I'm sure they'll enjoy your splendid cooking," said Dad walking in. "All of Ericka's friends do."

"Please don't embarrass me," I said. "I'm a lot closer to these girls and they took the trip to come and see me."

"Why would we embarrass you?" asked Mom. "How would me? Talk about Drew from After Romeo the whole time?"

"That would be the least of our worries," I said setting the silverware. "They're After Romeo fans just as well as I am." I smiled. "We talk about After Romeo a lot."

"We won't embarrass you, Ericka," said Dad.

"I'm going to hold you to that," I said as my phone rang. It's Alexis. I picked up. "Hey girl."

"Hey, we're filling up the tank right now and we'll be there," said Alexis. "Give us twenty to thirty minutes tops. We also got a gift for you and I hope it fits.

"You didn't have to do that," I said.

"You're giving us a roof over a head and we're just giving back," said Alexis. I heard a car door shut. "See you in about half an hour, kay?"

"Alright," I said smiling. "See you in a few. Love ya, beautiful."

"Love you too," said Alexis as she hung up.

"Thirty minutes," I said. "I'm ready to meet my girls."

Alexis' POV

I parked in the driveway of Ericka's place. "We're here," I said getting out of the car with Britt. "She has a beautiful home."

"Let's go meet Ericka," said Britt. We got our duffel bag from the trunk. I got the gift bag as well and walked to the front door. "Are you going to knock?"

"Let me take a moment to take this in," I said. I took a deep breath. "Here we go." I rang the doorbell. "Come on." The door opened and there was Ericka. "Hey girl."

"Alexis!" exclaimed Ericka as she hugged me. "Brittany!" She hugged Britt. "Come in. Come in." We walked in and Ericka put our duffel bag by the stairs. "I'll show you to your room but first, you're eating."

"Okay," I said. We followed her to the dining room. "Wow. This is quite a spread."

"Mom, Dad, this is Alexis and Brittany," said Ericka as we sat down.

"Please, call me Britt," said Britt.

"What about you, sweetheart?" asked Mrs. Skowronski.

"Oh, Alexis or Alex is fine," I said. We started eating. "This is delicious, Mrs. Skowronski."

"Thank you, hun," said Mrs. Skowronski. "So, Ericka tells us you're into After Romeo."

"It's actually how we met. After Romeo brought together many strangers who actually become friends," I said. "And even though our daily schedule contradicts each other, we always find a way to talk."

"Yeah. My work and sleep schedule compared to your college and sleep schedule," said Ericka. "It was a lot of work but it was worth it getting to know Alex and Britt."

"College?" asked Mr. Skowronski.

"Yes, sir," I said.

"What did you major in?" asked Mr. Skowronski.

"I majored in criminal justice and Britt majored in theatre," I said. "I plan on a career with the FBI and Britt wants to be an actress so we —"

"FBI?" asked Mr. Skowronski. "That's impressive. I also like Britt's decision."

I nodded. "Yes sir," I said. "We're not sure if we want to pursue the career just yet. Well, we are until the future holds a different path."
