Chapter 1
Once there lived a villager named Sapphira. She was tall, thin with long, red hair and beautiful blue eyes. She lived with her father Gregory and her sister Narcissia, in a small kingdom called Hallgirth. Everyone in the village was so kind and caring of one another. Her father was a farmer and her mother died when she was three, a few days after Narcissia was born. It was tough for her family because they only got enough money to get by with what food they produced and sold to their King. They used the money to pay for their farm and the things they needed for it. They all worked hard in the field’s every day, through the spring and the summer time.
“Today is my birthday”, Sapphira thought when she woke up that morning. At first she predicted that it would be the same as every other year, she would work all morning, then she would make supper, after that she would take a walk through the village then she would come home and clean the cottage, but this year was becoming different. She didn't work, instead her father and sister took her into the village and bought her a new necklace, one that she’s had her eye on for months, and they had an amazing dinner that she didnt even have to cook. She started to get concerned about how they where going to pay for the farm an just had to ask, ''Father this is all so wonderful, but where could you have possibly gotten the money for all this?
”“Darling I saved some money throughout the years for you and your sister, so don’t fret.'' He stops for one second and then he went on." When you two went into the village to get some supplies for the farm I went to try to sell some corn to the King. I know it's far and the King is a horrid man but I just wanted you and your sister to have nice birthdays this year. Besides this is the last time I really get to spoil you." his eyes looked sad but he had a smile on his face. "
"Oh father what are you talking about?" Sapphira asked.
"Sapphira," he paused because he knew what he was about to say was about to gravely upset her. "You have just truned the avarage age to start looking for a suiter"
Sapphira was becoming confused, she had no clues as to what he was talking about. "Papa what are you trying to say, a suiter for what".
"What I am trying to say is you need to find someone to marry, tomorrow you and your sister will go into town to buy a few new dresses because you two are going to start going to the balls and other partys."
"What if I am not ready to marry yet? What if I don't want to leave the farm yet!?" Sapphira cried, she was upset with her father and didn't want to be in the cottage anymore so she decided to go for a walk. Before she even noticed it she was far away from home, she was actually really close to the castle which really frightened her. While she was trying to find her way back home she ran into someone, it was obviously a man because he had such big hands that where gripping her arms very gently.
“Oh my goodness I am so sorry I am such a klutz, I’m, I got lost and I don’t know where I am, and I wasn’t looking where I was going.” She stammered. When she finally looked up she was looking into the eyes of the most hansom man she has ever seen. He was exactly what you would call tall, dark, and hansom. He had dark brown hair that hung down in his face, his eyes were equally brown but they were so dark they looked impossibly black, and he obviously worked out because his arms where very musclular.
“That’s quite alright, what’s a pretty girl like you doing out here alone anyways?” The man asked.
“Umm… I don’t really want to talk about it with someone I don’t know…” Sapphira replied suddenly aware that she still hadn’t let go of him. “Oh I’m terribly sorry sir.” She said jumping back away from him. “Oh I’m terribly sorry sir, gosh where are my manners, my name is Sapphira.” She said jumping back away from him.
“Well hello Sapphira, I am Luca.”
“OH MY, You’re the Prince! The Prince, oh no, I shouldn’t be here I have to go." Sapphira started to run away but stopped short, she had no Idea how to get back. "Uhmm... can you point me in the right direction back to the village?" She regretted having to ask him because it made her feel so helpless, also because she new he was a very horrible person.
"I'll just walk with you, I'm going there anyways."
